Deliver the Dream mourning the loss of their beloved Bertha.
Bertha (2007 Dodge Sprinter) – age 8, of Fort Lauderdale, drove on to greener pastures on July 8, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with multiple illnesses involving her drivetrain, A/C, glow plugs and electrical system, eventually succumbing to the breakdown of her turbo and actuator. Bertha was a hard-working and devoted member of the Deliver the Dream staff and called their local office home. Bertha loved to travel throughout Florida, making her way from Miami to Tallahassee, Tampa to Jacksonville, carrying her beloved Deliver the Dream employees and their supplies to retreats, meetings and events. Bertha’s bright-colored and inspiring wrap brought a smile to everyone who saw her on the road. Her cargo capacity made the Deliver the Dream retreats possible and the staff will be forever grateful for her dedication to the organization. Bertha is preceded in death by a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan. Her last wish was for a new van that would work just as hard for Deliver the Dream… and have many less engine problems along the way. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist Deliver the Dream with defraying the unexpected expense of Bertha’s successor so we may continue to help families dealing with serious illness and crisis.

About Deliver the Dream: Deliver the Dream provides structured, therapeutic, fun activities for families experiencing a serious illness or crisis on a three-day, two-night retreat weekend experience. Each retreat is geared towards a specific illness/crisis such as autism, spina bifida, death of a loved one, Down syndrome and cancer. There is no charge for families to attend.
