Help Us Build a Community Kitchen and Bunkhouse for 12 Men
At Adullam Alabama, we believe real transformation begins with meeting basic needs — shelter, food, stability, and community.
We are raising funds to build a community kitchen and a bunkhouse that will house 12 men experiencing homelessness in Cherokee County, Alabama and the surrounding areas.
This project will do more than provide beds.
It will create a place of refuge, restoration, and nourishment for the entire community.
A County With No Shelter for Men
Cherokee County currently has no housing facilities for men at all which sometimes leads to loitering arrests and and endless cycle of incarceration. Many of the men we serve are newly released from incarceration and working to meet probation requirements. Without housing, transportation, or consistent meals, they face overwhelming barriers before they even begin.
Adullam Alabama works closely with the Cherokee County Probation Department to help these men meet their obligations and rebuild their lives in a structured, accountable environment.
This new bunkhouse will provide safe, stable housing for 12 men who are committed to change.
A Community Kitchen That Feeds More Than Residents
The heart of this project is the community kitchen.
This kitchen will serve three meals a day to:
- Our 12 resident men
- Any community member in need of a hot meal
No questions. No judgment. Just food and dignity.
Food insecurity affects more people than we often realize. This kitchen will ensure that no one in our area goes without a warm meal when help is available.
More Than Food and Shelter
At Adullam Alabama, men are not simply housed — they are equipped.
Participants receive:
- Life skills training
- Financial literacy education
- Agricultural and building skills
- Accountability and structured support
- They learn how to grow food, contribute to sustainable living, and develop practical trades that prepare them for independence.
This is not a temporary fix.
It is a foundation for lasting change.
What This Project Makes Possible
A bunkhouse for 12 men means:
- 12 men off the streets
- 12 men supported through re-entry
- 12 men working toward independence
A community kitchen means:
- Three daily meals for residents
- Three daily meals available to neighbors in need
- A gathering place centered on care and service
Together, this facility becomes a place of stability, nourishment, and restoration.
