Support Nadja Shumpert

Hello everyone, my name is Nadja Shumpert.  I would first like to start off by thanking everyone who has been supporting me so far, it really means so much to me. To those wondering about me, I am currently a junior in high school, while being stationed with my family overseas in the UK. Right now, I’m balancing seven different clubs with two AP classes, pre-calculus, and the rest of my school work, all while maintaining a 3.7 GPA. I am also in the school’s choir, and I have been in various STEM related classes throughout my schooling, starting all the way back in middle school to the present. This program is something that I’ve been working towards most of my life and it would really benefit me. Since I’ll be off to college soon I need to choose a major. I know that I want to do something in engineering, but the problem is that I have no idea what form of engineering I want to go into. Unfortunately, my school does not offer any real career based classes, and while I’ve done a lot of research on the kinds of engineering I still don’t know which one will be best for me. This program, will give me a hands-on experience on different projects, while also allowing me to learn about the different types of engineers I could be. I will also have opportunities to talk to professionals and get advice, all while preparing for college. It’s an amazing opportunity that I would love to attend, but I can’t do it without you and your support! To go to this program would cost a lot of money especially since I'm traveling from the UK.   I’m not asking for much, even the minimum donation could help me. And even if you can’t donate, please just spread the word through any means you can and that would mean so much to me. Thank you.

Nadja has also been selected to represent her High School at a 2019 National Student Leadership Conference, held on the campuses of one of the top ranking schools in the country, including: Yale, Northwestern, University of California, Berkely, etc.  Attending this conference will help her learn leadership skills to succeed in her future career in Engineering.  Nadja will need to secure her spot by the beginning of March so she take advantage of this amazing opportunity.  Upon completion of her chosen program, she will be awarded an academic transcript and letters of recommendation to include in her college applications. Being selected to attend this program at one of these prestigious universities is a honor and privilege.  We believe this dream can come true with your support and generosity.   Thank you.

Our daughter Nadja "Nae" Shumpert has been selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) Engineering & Technology program at one of the major universities in engineering in the US such as Georgia Tech and the University of California, Berkeley.   She was selected because of her outstanding academic achievements.  Nae has always sought to challenge herself and has taken advanced placement classes for most of her school career.  We are extremely proud of her because she has continued to excel academically despite being a military child who’s on her 8th relocation and currently living in the United Kingdom.  She has served as Co-President of the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) Club, Secretary of Random Acts of Kindness, is involved in her school’s Student-to-Student council and the American Red Cross.  She has also received the Presidential Award, Career Technology & Education Award, and the Citizenship Award.  Her goal is to pursue a degree in Computer or Mechanical Engineering and this forum will provide a tremendous opportunity for her to receive hands on experience and learn engineering principles from some of the greatest minds in Engineering & Technology.

This program will span over 8 days and will immerse her in the world of engineering and technology at one of the top-ranked engineering schools. This program will help develop her with public speaking, critical thinking and problem solving skills that are critical for innovation and success in the engineering field.

Any donations will be used to cover the cost of tuition for the program and travel expenses from the UK to the US.

We are asking family, friends, and anyone else who's willing to help Nadja attend this opportunity of a lifetime.  Thank you in advance for your support.
