Wounded Vet Service Dog Surgery

Donation protected
Hello,

My husband SSG Edward Johnson Jr. was an 11B in the U.S. military 1997-2016, he deployed 6 times in less than 10 years, 3 of which being to Iraq. In 2006 he was shot in the back of the head by a sniper (receiving a Purple Heart) which caused TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) severe PTSD, tinnitus (constant ringing in his ears), severe back ailments, amungst other debilitating injuries. 4 IED explosions at close range and the list goes on. His PTSD causes flashbacks and re-occurring nightmares of war, so we decided to get a pitbull named Max and train him to be his Service Dog/Therapy dog! Max goes everywhere with him, calms him down when meds don't work,l and cuddles with him in bed when he senses a bad migraine, Max is just his world. The bond these two have is indescribable. Max tore his ACL August 17th and we immediately took him to the vet who did a thorough ortho examination costing $440.00 . On a limited monthly income it was mandatory. Now Max needs surgery to repair his ACL. The surgery and physical therapy will cost up to $4,500.00
As a man, my husband had to put his pride aside as I did also, and ask for ANY HELP WITH the expenses. We as an ex-military family NEVER ask for help, but this is a desperate time! If anyone can give just $5.00 - whatever you can help with, it would be a miracle. I do not want to have to sign my rights over to the vet if we cannot afford this surgery. He's in so much pain and it's hard for him to even go out to pee or get in the bed and do his job for my husband. PLEASE I'm begging which I never have done in my entire 41 years on this Earth for help. I thank you in advance for everything! Also, I do not want my husband to fall into a deep PTSD depression and have bad thoughts. Max brightens up his days and I have never seen my husband react towards an animal like this before. We have been married 20 yrs this past April, and together through the storm of the military. I have become an advocate for my husband since dealing with the VA to get the help he needs!
Thank you kindly for taking the time out to read his post, and help Max get back to his job as a Wounded Warriors Service Dog/ Therapy dog.
