⚽️ Help a U19 Girls Soccer Team Build on a Golden Beginning A group of U19 girls from Western Branch Soccer Club is heading into their first spring season together—building on their previous teamwork, learning each other’s strengths, and finding their rhythm on and off the field. In their first tournament last season, they did something unforgettable: they took home the gold . Now, they’re preparing for their first full spring season together, determined to keep growing, competing, and proving what they’re capable of. Our Goal: $4,000 $4,000 covers spring training and tournament registration fees for the team’s Spring 2026 season. $55 = registration for one player per tournament! Every contribution directly supports these athletes as they compete and grow together. Any funds raised beyond our goal will be used to support additional team and seasonal expenses. Meet Sophia — a 12‑week‑old tuxedo kitten with the sweetest spirit despite everything she’s been through. She was found in a sewer behind the Food Lion on Godwin Blvd., scared, injured, and desperately needing help. We believe she may have been seeking warmth inside a car engine and was severely burned when the vehicle started. Sophia’s back right leg is broken, infected, and badly burned. She is currently under the care of Nansemond Veterinary Clinic, receiving pain medication and supportive treatment. As of 01/09/2026, her surgery is on hold while the infection is treated. Once the infection clears and she is medically stable, her amputation will be scheduled with Nansemond Vet Clinic. She has a long road to recovery ahead. Despite her trauma, Sophia remains incredibly gentle, loving, and docile. She adores people, gets along well with other animals, and has a sunny disposition that shines through even now. We are asking for help to cover her medical expenses so she can receive the care she needs and have a chance at a healthy, happy life. We are asking for support for an active-duty Navy family who has proudly served our country, yet now finds themselves carrying a heavy personal burden. Like many couples, they dream of growing their family. After years of heartbreak and challenges, IVF (in vitro fertilization) has become their only path forward. While TRICARE covers a small portion of the expenses, the family is still responsible for most of the costs out of pocket. Their last IVF attempt required them to pay $9,000, and as they prepare for another round of treatment in December, they once again face the same financial challenge. Our Goal: $9,000 to cover their upcoming IVF cycle, which includes: Cycle management Egg retrieval Insemination Genetic testing Sperm sample Every dollar raised will go directly toward these expenses and bring them closer to the family they have been working, hoping, and praying for. Military families sacrifice so much for us — long deployments, missed milestones, and endless dedication.
