<div>Hi, I’m Christy of Petty Betty Art Studio. About a year ago, after Midnite Pottery closed, I decided to take the leap and open my own studio to continue offering kids' handprints and an arts resource center to our community. I worked for 10 years at Midnite Pottery and honed my skills under the amazing artists before me that kept Midnite’s doors open for 25 years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am now moving into a more permanent studio and location from my current temporary situation behind Midnite. As I have at my present location, I will continue offering the beloved kids' handprints and arts workshops for kids and adults.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>If you feel so led, I would so appreciate any support you could offer to help relieve my moving financial anxiety.</strong> I will be moving and setting up the new studio for the month of May and therefore will not be hosting any workshops. I am hoping to have everything up and running by June. <strong>I can’t wait to create with you guys again in the new location!</strong>
</div>

Support Petty Betty Art Studio’s New Home

<div><strong>Kinney Kimbrough lost his home Monday to a house fire.</strong> The home is a total loss. He was happy to report his drums were kept safe in a separate shed. Kinney was able to grab a few clothes as he evacuated the home, but nothing more. He lost medications, memorabilia, money, personal effects, and the like.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In addition, he’s just had surgery to repair his shoulder after years of masterful drumming. A new home will need to be sourced to place on his property of 30 years. <strong>Any amount an individual or entity can donate will go solely and directly to support his needs.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Kinney began playing music in church in the Holly Springs, Mississippi area and became the drummer for his father, blues man Junior Kimbrough in the early 1990’s. Kinney was also largely responsible for keeping his father’s juke joint running during the 1990’s. He performed on several of his father’s records as well as records by his brothers David and Robert Kimbrough, Eric Deaton, Afrissippi, Davis Coen, and many others. In 2010 he released a solo album entitled Super Funky, and he continues to perform today. His sound on drums epitomizes the “hill country sound” that has been popularized around the world. The influence his drumming style has had on musicians and fans alike cannot be overstated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am Kinney’s friend and band mate of over 20 years. I started this fundraiser to help him get back on his feet financially. These funds will be used to help Kinney purchase medications, food, and clothing since he lost all of those in the fire. Funds will also be used to help Kinney find a new place to live while he looks for a replacement house trailer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds that are donated to this fundraiser will be received into my bank account, and I will issue cashier’s checks to Kinney as he needs them for essential supplies such as medicine, food, clothing, rent, utilities, and doctors visits.
</div>

Help Kinney Rebuild After House Fire

<div>Our amazing friends Jason and Amanda Hayden are going through a tough time right now. Jason was recently diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his lungs. The good news is the doctors feel confident it can be removed with surgery, but it's still a scary road ahead. Between medical bills, travel back and forth to UAB, and having to shut down (ONLY TEMPORARILY!) Cafe 212, the expenses are already piling up. We'd love to rally around them and help ease some of that stress so they can focus on Jason's health and recovery. If you're able, please consider giving-every little bit helps. And most of all, keep the alllllll the love and good vibes coming their way!

<div>Help Blair Heal: Support a Strong Mom Through an Unexpected Medical Crisis

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If you know Blair Baldwyn, you know she is one of the most selfless, warm-hearted, and quietly strong people you’ll ever meet. For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of calling her my friend—more like family, really. She’s the kind of woman who shows up for everyone else, no matter what she’s going through. Now, I’m asking you to show up for her.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Blair is a devoted mom of three teen girls. She works hard, loves harder, and never complains—not even when life knocks her off her feet. But right now, she’s facing something no one could have seen coming.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Just a few weeks ago, Blair underwent a routine hysterectomy—a surgery meant to help her feel better. But what followed was nothing short of a nightmare. She developed a sudden and serious post-op infection that landed her back in the hospital for emergency surgery. The complications were severe, and her road to recovery is going to be longer and more painful than anyone imagined.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>While Blair does have insurance, it only covers a portion of what she now faces. The unexpected second surgery, extended hospital stay, additional prescriptions, home care needs, and lost wages from being out of work longer than planned—all of this is falling squarely on her shoulders. And she’s the sole provider for her family.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Blair is a fighter. She’s getting stronger every day. But healing takes time, and bills don’t wait.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>This is where we come in.

</div>

<div>Let’s help lift the weight off her shoulders so she can focus on what matters most: healing and being there for her kids.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We’re asking you—friends, family, kind strangers—to give what you can. No amount is too small. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

</div>

<div>	•	uncovered medical expenses from the emergency surgery

</div>

<div>	•	medication and home recovery needs

</div>

<div>	•	utilities, groceries, and basic expenses while Blair is out of work

</div>

<div>	•	peace of mind for a mom who desperately needs it right now

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Blair would never ask for help herself—but she needs it. And if you’ve ever met her, I promise you: she would do the same for you in a heartbeat.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Let’s rally around this incredible woman who gives so much and asks for nothing. Let’s show her that she’s not alone.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you for giving, sharing, and supporting.

</div>

<div>Let’s help Blair heal—with dignity, love, and the strength of a community behind her.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>With all my heart, thank you.

</div>

Rally for Blair: Aid Her Medical Recovery

<div>Finley’s GoFundMe
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With Paige’s permission, this GoFundMe has been created to support the Parker family as they face one of the most difficult challenges imaginable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Paige and Joe were already loving parents to two young boys, Riley and Perry, when they joyfully learned they were expecting a third baby boy. At 20 weeks, they leaned that baby Finley had a heart defect. He was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS) with tricuspid atresia. This condition means that the right side of his heart, including the tricuspid valve and right ventricle, is underdeveloped or missing, making it difficult for his heart to pump blood to his lungs and resulting in dangerously low oxygen levels.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The remainder of Paige’s pregnancy was filled with uncertainty, as doctors couldn’t predict how severe Finley’s condition would be.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Finley David Parker was born January 23, 2025. He arrived relatively stable and transferred to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. Paige and Joe were initially told it would be a few days before Finley would decline and require his first surgery. Shortly after Finley’s arrival to LeBonheur, an echocardiogram revealed his condition was worse than expected and things escalated quickly. Finley’s heart was not responding to the medications that were suppose to keep him stable for a few days before needing surgery. He rapidly declined requiring intubation and bedside surgery to be placed on ECMO. Finley then had his first of three staged surgeries at 17 hours old, the BTT shunt.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During his second week of life, Finley’s shunt clotted off requiring another bedside surgery to clear the shunt and then he was taken to the cath lab to ensure the clot was fully gone. During his third week of life, his RA line migrated filling his chest cavity with his meds causing his lung to collapse and a cardiac arrest. Finley’s medical team was able to bring him back with chest compressions and another emergent bedside surgery to clear the chest cavity and fix the migrated line. Due to multiple surgeries in his chest and traumatic events, Finley developed chylothorax requiring multiple chest tubes to drain the fluid build up from around his lungs and continuous product replacements to keep his body functioning. At a little over four weeks old, Finley went for yet another surgery in a final attempt to address the complications of chylothorax. It is not exactly clear what has helped the chylothorax but something helped to turn a corner and Finley began to make a little progress. Then, elevated heart rates and high fevers with no answers to why kept Finley in a stand still for almost 3 weeks. It was discovered Finley had been fighting mono!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Finley’s tiny body has required heavy sedation and numerous medications. His journey has been filled with both hopeful progress and heartbreaking setbacks—but Finley continues to fight, and we believe his life has a beautiful purpose.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Paige was unable to take a traditional maternity leave. Instead, she spent her days by Finley’s side in the hospital. Eventually, she had to make the heartbreaking decision to return to work early to save her remaining FMLA weeks and help support the family financially. She and Joe have since had to juggle caring for their other two sons, managing their jobs, and taking turns staying in Memphis with Finley.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This has meant splitting their time—one parent at home, one at the hospital—and constantly traveling back and forth, all while navigating the emotional and financial toll of a medically complex child. Medical bills, travel expenses, time off work, and daily living costs continue to mount.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking for your help. Please consider donating to support the Parkers as they face this unimaginable season. Your contributions will help relieve some of the financial burden and allow them to focus on what matters most—being there for Finley and their family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Most importantly, please keep them in your prayers. We trust that God is holding Finley close and has a mighty plan for his life. If you prefer to donate directly, Paige's payment app info is below.

Stand by the Parkers: Finley’s Heart Journey

<div>Friends, fans and supporters of Rebecca, Cory, Clem and the Admiral: On August 9th, the Branan family residence fell victim to catastrophic damage during the storms in Memphis when three trees were uprooted and fell directly onto the family’s property - crushing entire rooms of their house and totaling Rebecca’s car.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/74626151_1691676261468848_r." width="100%" />

<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Somehow, someway, nobody was physically hurt during this nightmarish episode. The utility company is saying the storm involved a "microburst" in which winds can exceed 100 mph equivalent to an EF-1 tornado! The damage to their property and belongings is nearly incalculable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The family will likely be responsible for replacing almost all of their earthly belongings - from clothing to books to Rebecca’s beloved kitchenware and Clem’s stuffies collection, plus the aforementioned car - not to mention the added burden of hunting for a new place to live. The guitar gods were looking out for Cory, and he was able to rescue most of his equipment.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any monetary support that you’re able to contribute to the family as they navigate this unforeseen challenge is greatly appreciated. Your contributions will go towards anything and everything the Branans need to keep afloat during this difficult and heart-wrenching time - meals, hotel stays, transportation and replacing their lost belongings, to start.
</div>
<div><br />

<div>If you’d be so kind to donate and share, it would be greatly appreciated. Let’s help get these wonderful people back on their feet.

<div>**UPDATE** We are delighted to announce that we have CRUSHED our starting goal in a matter of hours thanks to hundreds of donors, all out of the goodness of their hearts. However, we're not stopping now. Our friends lost <em>everything </em>that day<em>- </em>let's keep working to help them regain what's been lost. Thank you SO much for the absolute outpouring of love and support.

Help the Branans after devastating storm

<div>After months of pain, doctor visits, various scans, and blood transfusions, we finally got the news no one wanted. Puddin' (aka Justin Sullivan) has been diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer at the young age of 35.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>About Justin</strong>
</div>
<div>As many people know, Justin is as humble as they come. He would give someone the shirt off his back without even thinking twice. That is just the type of person my big brother is. He has never met a stranger. He is patient. He is kind. He checks every box that would make up a "good person", and yet here we are. But, we aren't here to question "why" this has happened to him. Instead, it's time we band together to support him, love him, and pray for him. That is what we must do to help get him through this.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The Cancer</strong>
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, most people are very familiar with cancer, as well as the standard practice of treating it: chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, etc. The tumor within Justin's colon is too large to surgically remove, which is where the chemo and radiation will come in. The loose plan is currently set at 7-12 months of "aggressive" chemotherapy and radiation in hopes to shrink the tumor so that surgery will be more successful. The specifics as to how many sessions/what combination is TBD, as Justin also has a few lung nodules that the scans identified. These nodules will have to be biopsied ASAP and will directly influence which treatment route the oncologists decide to take. Justin is scheduled to have his port put in on Wednesday, November 2nd.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The Why</strong>
</div>
<div>I'm creating this GoFundMe to help support Justin and Ashton as they brace themselves for the months to come. Justin and Ashton have maintained a high level of positivity and faith, but the pain has also limited his capacity to work. During the exhausting months to come of constant chemo, radiation, and surgery the last thing they need to worry about is medical bills (as well as the bills of everyday life) piling up above their heads. Every dollar of donations will be used to ensure we can get Justin the treatments and surgery he needs. It will also help provide financial stability and peace of mind for Justin and Ashton.
</div>

Help Justin Fight Cancer

So as many of you know on March 06, 2022 Olivia was diagnosed with cancer. It has completed changed our world in so many ways. Olivia is a tough fighter and has an amazing support group and medical team. Her strength during this has been absolutely inspiring. For the month before treatment started there had been multiple hospital stays in Oxford, trip to Memphis, 3 to 4 days a week back and forth from Booneville and Oxford. She is now staying in a hotel in Oxford to cut down on some of the travel and missed work on my end, but all the these things cost money. Medicine, lodging, travel, food, everything has just been adding up. Tons of people have asked how they can help. Well this is it. If this isn't your style we have PayPal, Cashapp, Venmo. Any gift cards for the following, Walmart, Kroger, Doordash, Uber, visa cash cards. I set the goal high but anything and everything will help us get Olivia through this as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Thanks for taking the time to read this and please please share it everywhere.<br /><img src="https://d2kw0licpa1moo.cloudfront.net/64847239_165064181843806_updates.jpg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="64847239_165064181843806_updates.jpg" />

Cancer's battle with Olivia

<div>I’ve created this GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for my dear friend Drew.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This past week, Drew underwent surgery due to a large tumor growing on his spine. Thankfully, the surgery proved to be a massive success—90% of the tumor was removed!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s obvious that there is still a good ways to go from there. Physical therapy and other necessary treatments will give Drew a rough stretch of road up ahead, and it should go without saying that while his job position is secure, going back to work certainly isn’t going to happen in the near future.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I would love to help ease the heavy burden of medical bills (and other miscellaneous financial demands) from his and Savannah’s minds as Drew recovers over the next several months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider donating whatever you can; I know he would appreciate the generosity, and I promise that any amount would be a great relief.
</div>

Help Drew Pay His Medical Bills

<p>I have started this Go Fund Me on behalf of Preston George. Preston has been dating my niece, Lauren Palladino, for nearly 6 years and was recently diagnosed with metastatic testicular cancer at 25 years old. He has undergone one surgery at which it was confirmed that the cancer had already spread. The recommended course of action is for him to undergo another surgery to remove lymph nodes from the back of his abdomen to determine the extent of the metastasis. At that point, they will be able to determine the need and extent for chemotherapy. He was referred to Vandy and UAB where they have the technology to perform the surgery laparoscopically, but he was denied by both, as he recently aged out from his father’s insurance. The only other option is a very invasive, radical surgery that cannot be performed in Tupelo. The surgery would have to be done in Jackson. It would last at least 6 hours, require at least a week in the hospital and the recovery period will be extensive.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>Preston, Lauren, and their families are trying desperately to find a way for Preston to receive this surgery at UAB. The hope is that he will have some level of insurance on June 1st that UAB will accept. It would be considered out of network so the costs of surgery and treatment will still be very high. Preston and Lauren have been overwhelmed with love and support from family and friends. They have been asked how others can help them on this journey so for anyone that is wanting to contribute toward his medical expenses can do so through this Go Fund Me. The fears and anxieties of dealing with cancer shouldn’t be compounded with the fears and anxieties of the financial burdens that come with it.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>Our family is all too familiar with this journey. Lauren’s mother passed away from lung cancer 11 years ago after an 8-month battle. It was the day after Mother’s Day in 2010 when Lauren was only 15. We are heartbroken that Preston is having to go through this, and we are heartbroken that Lauren is on this journey with another person that she loves. While Preston’s prognosis is great, we know that this road is going to be long and hard and appreciate all the love, prayers and support that is being shown to them.

Madison James Clifton passed away on November 3rd, 2020 at the age of 30 years old in Jackson, Tennessee.<br /><br />Madison’s unique soul touched every person who met him. He was loved and cherished by many for his caring nature, goofy sense of humor, and love for life. Madison spent his life entertaining others with his music and comedic timing. He was the life of every family gathering, party, and show he ever attended. Madison’s life was cut short, but his memory will live on in every person he met.<br /><br />The family is asking for help with funding to have Madison moved to Monroe, Louisiana, where his family and friends can pay their final respects. Additionally, the family needs help with cremation costs so that Madison can be memorialized in all of the places that he called home.<br /><br />Please, send any photos, memories, or songs to wegentry at gmail so that they can be used in a memorial slideshow.<br /><br />**Update from the family:<br />We are beyond moved by the outpouring support we have received. To reach our goal in less than 24 hours really speaks volumes to how much Madison is loved. As of now, we are unsure what the total cost will be, and we can only guess based on the national average (~$8,000). In the event that this funding exceeds the costs, we are currently researching charities in which to donate to. We will share those details here and in the obituary. Again, we are incredibly humbled and thankful for everyone's donations. Words cannot express how grateful we are.

Just looking to show Cafe 212 some love. This amazing group of folks keep us going with their amazing food.  According to the recent FB post they have run into a series of unfortunate events, as if the Covid wasn’t enough. If we all chipped in a lil bit we could take some of the pressure off.  We all know when it rains, it pours so pulling together we can hopefully bring them a lil rainbow. ✌

Many of you have asked how you can help Chad and his family. <br /><br />Chad, who was featured on the documentary series World of Jenks, has autism and is going through a particularly difficult time. <br /><br />He and his family were recently told they will soon be kicked out of their home. They have nowhere to go, and there are several financial struggles that are preventing them from finding a place. Chad’s father is currently in a wheel chair and unable to do much. As many of you can remember from Chad’s episodes, Chad also does not take to change well. He likes his routine and this is a big struggle for him.<br /><br />We are starting this GoFundMe in hopes of helping them find a home in the area they currently live.<br /><br />This family has been through so much. Chad and his family have touched so many lives and we would love to be able to do something for them, even if it's just making their life a little bit easier. Any assistance will make a big difference if you can find it in your heart to help.<br /><br />With love,<br />Brittany and Andrew<br /><br />Note : My name is Brittany Soeters and I am from Tennessee. I am raising this money for my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin. The funds raised will be given to them and used to help them rent or buy a home.

This campaign is to help Matt and his family with medical expenses while he is recovering. Matt was involved in a fatal car crash on Friday, August 23rd where his best friend and cousin was killed along with the two passengers in the other car that hit them. Matt suffered a broken left arm and a shattered left leg and is looking at up to 12-15 weeks of intense physical therapy. As Matt’s older brother, I started this campaign at the request of many of his friends from all over the country asking how they can help. Thank you for your support and continue to keep Matt and his family in your prayers.

***This fundraiser comes with rewards!***<br /><br />Brian introduced me to Adam Faucett when we were driving to the Philadelphia airport; he was flying back home. He played a couple songs for me and I was instantly hooked. I listened to Adam's songs all the way back to New Jersey after I dropped Brian off, his voice was just what I needed to carry me through that melancholy trip back.<br /><br />2 years later, we live together and his music is in frequent rotation while we sit and draw. Recently we found out as many of you did that Adam has a cyst on his vocal cord. This would be significant for anyone, but when you pour your life and heart  into being a singer-songwriter as Adam has it clearly presents its own challenges. Adam's music has provided us with so much, we want to give back in the way we know how- through art.<br /><br />Adam will have surgery to remove the cyst, and will have an extensive recovery period and physical therapy before he'll be back up and running. We want to help alleviate the financial burden this downtime will bring so Adam can focus his energy on resting and healing. Brian and I have each drawn something related to Adam and his music. If you donate $25 or more, you will receive two 11x14 prints, one of each design. All money minus the cost of shipping and GFM fees will go directly to Adam. I will be shipping via usps media mail so as to keep the most amount of money possible going to his recovery from this surgery.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/40773300_1563666599330424_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="40773300_1563666599330424_r.jpeg" /><br />Adam is literally one of the nicest, most genuine people we've met. Let's all pull together to help him out!

Danielle Adams is a bright, gifted singer and teacher.  Four years ago, at the age of 22, Danielle was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer.  After several major surgeries, she remains in treatment with her primary care team at M. D. Anderson in Houston, TX.  Per doctor's orders, she left her teaching job in March of 2018. Since then, she developed an infection resulting in sepsis and an extended stay in the hospital.<br /><br />Due to extensive, life-saving medical treatment at M. D. Anderson, medical bills and travel expenses have become insurmountable.  Danielle is responsible for the portion of her bills that insurance does not cover.  Additionally, a significant number of prescriptions are not covered by insurance.<br /><br />At this critical time in her life, we are asking that you will prayerfully consider helping her cover the astronomical cost of medical treatment.  She hopes to continue receiving treatment.  Please join us in helping Danielle win this battle with such a dreadful disease.

If you know Anne, then you know Lucy. You've seen pictures of Lucy, heard stories about Lucy, probably even met Lucy. And if you've been lucky enough to meet Lucy, then you certainly have been loved on and licked on by Lucy. Her energetic and loving spirit is infectious. <br /><br />Sweet Lucy was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia this week. Her liver is also in trouble. She's currently in critical condition at MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine undergoing immunosuppressant therapy, steroids, and has had a third blood transfusion. The blood transfusions are able to buy time to allow the medicine to work. Currently, she is making slow progressions, but at an incredibly costly price.<br /><br />While she is receiving the best care she possibly could, please take a moment to send a prayer or positive thought for Lucy and Anne during this time. It's impossible to not be heartbroken over the discovery of her condition. With that being said, let's send love for Lucy by helping buy her more time to give the medicine a chance to work. All funds will go directly to Anne.<br /><br />-Lauren Wilkins and Amber Higgins

As many of you may know, Sherrie Cochran has been an asset to the Tupelo community for many years working as the City Neighborhood Liaison, Environmental Planner, and Executive Director of Keep Tupelo Beautiful.  She unselfishly gives her time and effort to make Tupelo a better place through her love of trees, plants, and people.  <br /><br />Unfortunately, the last year for Sherrie has been a rough one-- Losing the love of her life suddenly and now bravely battling cancer for the second time.  Thankfully she has medical insurance, but of course that doesn't cover everything.<br /><br />She did not ask for help and didn't know we started this.  But this isn't asking for help.  This is thanking Sherrie for all of her years of service to Tupelo and to the friends she loves so well.  So let's shower her with love and let her know what a special and appreciated woman she is.<br /><br /> (All funds will go directly to Sherrie to assist with medical bills, her mortgage, utility bills and other necessary expenses during this unique time.)

PVT. WARS SETC Trip

<strong>We grew up in the butt of the joke and we ended up falling in love with the punchline. Mississippi. <br /></strong><br /><a href="https://www.facebook.com/theholyghostelectricshow" target="_blank"><strong>The Holy Ghost Electric Show</strong></a>  is a band from Oxford, Mississippi signed to <a href="http://www.thisisamericanmusic.com" target="_blank"><strong>This Is American Music</strong></a>  wanting to make a concept album about what it means to be from the rural south in 2016. It will be an album made of characters, events, and ideals we have met and seen in our lives here. <br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/5697297_1439863009.3944_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br />Romanticized Confederate ghosts. Champions of the poor. Defenders of the privileged. Skate kids in Wal-Mart parking lots. 9/11 eagles. Jim Crows. Good ole boys. Day old Texaco food. Crappy local shows. Racist. Lovers of their fellow man.The pain of the Delta. The comfort of the Governor's mansion. God. Satan. Wild stray dogs. Trailer parks. Projects. Farms. Corrupt towns. Corrupt hearts. Races coming together. Races fighting each other. Tears streaming on the back pew. Pentecostal fever dreams. Confederate flags on beat down trucks. 110ft crosses in buffet parking lots.  Classism. Mockingbirds. Whippoorwills. Endless summers and porches. Creeps. Losers. Dreamers. Believers. <br /><br /><br />And we're sure there will be an applicable bible verse for every corner it turns.<br /> <br /><br />This is what will make up this album. We want to tell the stories that we know and that we see. We are tired of being spoken for by our state representatives, by reality tv, by Nashville radio, and comedians faking an accent while telling fart jokes. We are going to say the ugly truths and beautiful truths. The grey area between the wine colored, tear stained pulpit and the bar stool covered with stickers from out of town bands. And not a single tractor or pair of blues jean shorts in sight.<br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/5697297_1439863061.5045_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><strong>The Dirty Deets</strong><br /><br />We will be recording this album in the first two weeks of January at <a href="http://www.dialbacksound.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Dial Back Sound</strong></a>  in Water Valley, Mississippi home of Fat Possum Records. The talented Bronson Tew will take the helm of sound engineer. He balances rawness and beauty in his recordings like it's second nature. In January of 2015 HGES recorded an EP with producer and musician <a href="http://www.simonefelice.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Simone Felice</strong></a>  in Woodstock, NY (The Felice Brothers, The Duke &amp; The King) and he will be returning for this full length as the producer. Simone has written critically acclaimed work as a musician and author. He has also produced hit records such as The Avett Brothers release "I and Love and You" in 2009. Simone brought out the best in us in those five days in New York and helped us nurture our strengths and improve our weaknesses. We believe this is the team we need to make our vision come to life. Plus the countless friends and musicians who will donate their talents and time in the studio with us. It's not a question of if or when but a question of how. That's where you hopefully come in.<br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/5697297_1439864717.8139_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><strong>Where Your Donations Go</strong><br /><br />We are asking for $10,000 dollars but truthfully we need more than that make this dream a reality. We also believe this best thing to do with a gift is to turn around give a gift to someone more in need. So we have decided that 50% of all funds made after reaching our $10,000 dollar goal will go toward  charities that we feel are doing great things both here in Mississippi and abroad in the country of Haiti. <br /><br />One of these organizations help make it possible for impoverished youth in Mississippi to pay for college.  <a href="http://mclean.olemiss.edu/saves/" target="_blank"><strong>LOU Saves</strong></a>  is child savings program that seeks to improve quality of life by providing multi-generational financial education and nurturing college-going aspirations among underserved youth. LOU Saves opens child savings accounts for eligible elementary school students in the Oxford and Lafayette County School Districts. The accounts are opened with $50 seed deposits provided by the program, and LOU Saves engages in fundraising efforts to match up to $100 per year of deposits made on behalf of each participating child. Research indicates that children with a bank account in their name are 6x more likely to attend college, so the accounts are opened in the child’s name and are administered by a third party custodian. The accounts are restricted for expenses related to college or postsecondary job training expenses. Parents and caregivers of students entering the program are required to attend a financial literacy workshop and a one-on-one financial coaching session. Additional, age-appropriate financial literacy activities will be offered for participating students. <br /><br /><br />The other involves directly the family of Cody and Jake Rogers in the band. Their family along with others invovled in The Lighthouse Foundation, Freedom Fellowship, and other organizations within the community go to Haiti to build schools, wells, and homes in rural areas and teach locals how to as well. They also provide other things we take for granted such as shoes, pencils, notebooks, clothes, etc. We know where your money would go with these organizations and can promise you every little bit would make a difference. <br /><br />You will also automatically receive a download of the yet to be released EP produced by Simone Felice called "Sinai" from The Holy Ghost Electric Show when you donate $10 or over. This EP will not be released to the general public until the beginning of next year. Everyone who donates will also receive a discount of the vinyl release of the EP when it is released to the public. Here is the single from the EP. <br /><a href="https://soundcloud.com/theholyghostelectricshow/levee-of-your-heart-1" target="_blank"><br /></a><a href="https://holyghostelectricshowms.bandcamp.com/track/levee-of-your-heart" target="_blank">Levee Of Your Heart - The Holy Ghost Electric Show </a><br /><br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/5697297_1439866374.2914_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><strong>In Closing<br /><br /></strong>Proverbs says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." and Elvis said "If I can dream of a better land Where all my brothers walk hand in hand Tell me why can't my dream come true?"<br /><br />So we're going to cherry pick both the bible and Elvis and say that we agree.<br /><br />This album is our dream and vision. We can promise you this band will pour our hearts out in that studio. We can also promise you that Simone and Bronson will work their hardest. This album hasn't even stepped over the threshold of a studio and we know it's the most personal and heartfelt work we've done yet.<br /><br />We hope you'll be a part of this. We hope you'll be fortunate enough to believe in this as much as we do. We hope we'll be fortunate to see you at the finishing line. We hope you'll be part of this voice for the New South.
