<div><strong>Kinney Kimbrough lost his home Monday to a house fire.</strong> The home is a total loss. He was happy to report his drums were kept safe in a separate shed. Kinney was able to grab a few clothes as he evacuated the home, but nothing more. He lost medications, memorabilia, money, personal effects, and the like.

<div>In addition, he’s just had surgery to repair his shoulder after years of masterful drumming. A new home will need to be sourced to place on his property of 30 years. <strong>Any amount an individual or entity can donate will go solely and directly to support his needs.</strong>

<div>Kinney began playing music in church in the Holly Springs, Mississippi area and became the drummer for his father, blues man Junior Kimbrough in the early 1990’s. Kinney was also largely responsible for keeping his father’s juke joint running during the 1990’s. He performed on several of his father’s records as well as records by his brothers David and Robert Kimbrough, Eric Deaton, Afrissippi, Davis Coen, and many others. In 2010 he released a solo album entitled Super Funky, and he continues to perform today. His sound on drums epitomizes the “hill country sound” that has been popularized around the world. The influence his drumming style has had on musicians and fans alike cannot be overstated.

<div>I am Kinney’s friend and band mate of over 20 years. I started this fundraiser to help him get back on his feet financially. These funds will be used to help Kinney purchase medications, food, and clothing since he lost all of those in the fire. <div>Paige and Joe were already loving parents to two young boys, Riley and Perry, when they joyfully learned they were expecting a third baby boy. At 20 weeks, they leaned that baby Finley had a heart defect. He was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome (HRHS) with tricuspid atresia. This condition means that the right side of his heart, including the tricuspid valve and right ventricle, is underdeveloped or missing, making it difficult for his heart to pump blood to his lungs and resulting in dangerously low oxygen levels.

<div>The remainder of Paige’s pregnancy was filled with uncertainty, as doctors couldn’t predict how severe Finley’s condition would be.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Finley David Parker was born January 23, 2025. He arrived relatively stable and transferred to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. Paige and Joe were initially told it would be a few days before Finley would decline and require his first surgery. Shortly after Finley’s arrival to LeBonheur, an echocardiogram revealed his condition was worse than expected and things escalated quickly. Finley’s heart was not responding to the medications that were suppose to keep him stable for a few days before needing surgery. He rapidly declined requiring intubation and bedside surgery to be placed on ECMO. Finley then had his first of three staged surgeries at 17 hours old, the BTT shunt.

<div>During his second week of life, Finley’s shunt clotted off requiring another bedside surgery to clear the shunt and then he was taken to the cath lab to ensure the clot was fully gone. During his third week of life, his RA line migrated filling his chest cavity with his meds causing his lung to collapse and a cardiac arrest. Finley’s medical team was able to bring him back with chest compressions and another emergent bedside surgery to clear the chest cavity and fix the migrated line. Due to multiple surgeries in his chest and traumatic events, Finley developed chylothorax requiring multiple chest tubes to drain the fluid build up from around his lungs and continuous product replacements to keep his body functioning. At a little over four weeks old, Finley went for yet another surgery in a final attempt to address the complications of chylothorax. It is not exactly clear what has helped the chylothorax but something helped to turn a corner and Finley began to make a little progress. Then, elevated heart rates and high fevers with no answers to why kept Finley in a stand still for almost 3 weeks. It was discovered Finley had been fighting mono!

<div>Finley’s tiny body has required heavy sedation and numerous medications. His journey has been filled with both hopeful progress and heartbreaking setbacks—but Finley continues to fight, and we believe his life has a beautiful purpose.
</div>

<div>Paige was unable to take a traditional maternity leave. Instead, she spent her days by Finley’s side in the hospital. Eventually, she had to make the heartbreaking decision to return to work early to save her remaining FMLA weeks and help support the family financially. She and Joe have since had to juggle caring for their other two sons, managing their jobs, and taking turns staying in Memphis with Finley.

<div>This has meant splitting their time—one parent at home, one at the hospital—and constantly traveling back and forth, all while navigating the emotional and financial toll of a medically complex child. Medical bills, travel expenses, time off work, and daily living costs continue to mount.

<div>Friends, fans and supporters of Rebecca, Cory, Clem and the Admiral: On August 9th, the Branan family residence fell victim to catastrophic damage during the storms in Memphis when three trees were uprooted and fell directly onto the family’s property - crushing entire rooms of their house and totaling Rebecca’s car.

<div>Somehow, someway, nobody was physically hurt during this nightmarish episode. The utility company is saying the storm involved a "microburst" in which winds can exceed 100 mph equivalent to an EF-1 tornado! The damage to their property and belongings is nearly incalculable.

<div>The family will likely be responsible for replacing almost all of their earthly belongings - from clothing to books to Rebecca’s beloved kitchenware and Clem’s stuffies collection, plus the aforementioned car - not to mention the added burden of hunting for a new place to live. The guitar gods were looking out for Cory, and he was able to rescue most of his equipment.

<div>As many people know, Justin is as humble as they come. He would give someone the shirt off his back without even thinking twice. That is just the type of person my big brother is. He has never met a stranger. He is patient. He is kind. He checks every box that would make up a "good person", and yet here we are. But, we aren't here to question "why" this has happened to him. Instead, it's time we band together to support him, love him, and pray for him. That is what we must do to help get him through this.

<div><strong>The Cancer</strong>

<div>Unfortunately, most people are very familiar with cancer, as well as the standard practice of treating it: chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, etc. The tumor within Justin's colon is too large to surgically remove, which is where the chemo and radiation will come in. The loose plan is currently set at 7-12 months of "aggressive" chemotherapy and radiation in hopes to shrink the tumor so that surgery will be more successful. The specifics as to how many sessions/what combination is TBD, as Justin also has a few lung nodules that the scans identified. These nodules will have to be biopsied ASAP and will directly influence which treatment route the oncologists decide to take. Justin is scheduled to have his port put in on Wednesday, November 2nd.

<div>I'm creating this GoFundMe to help support Justin and Ashton as they brace themselves for the months to come. Justin and Ashton have maintained a high level of positivity and faith, but the pain has also limited his capacity to work. During the exhausting months to come of constant chemo, radiation, and surgery the last thing they need to worry about is medical bills (as well as the bills of everyday life) piling up above their heads. Every dollar of donations will be used to ensure we can get Justin the treatments and surgery he needs. It will also help provide financial stability and peace of mind for Justin and Ashton.

Olivia is a tough fighter and has an amazing support group and medical team. Her strength during this has been absolutely inspiring. For the month before treatment started there had been multiple hospital stays in Oxford, trip to Memphis, 3 to 4 days a week back and forth from Booneville and Oxford. She is now staying in a hotel in Oxford to cut down on some of the travel and missed work on my end, but all the these things cost money. Cancer's battle with Olivia

Help Drew Pay His Medical Bills

<p>I have started this Go Fund Me on behalf of Preston George.  Preston has been dating my niece, Lauren Palladino, for nearly 6 years and was recently diagnosed with metastatic testicular cancer at 25 years old.  He has undergone one surgery at which it was confirmed that the cancer had already spread.  The recommended course of action is for him to undergo another surgery to remove lymph nodes from the back of his abdomen to determine the extent of the metastasis. At that point, they will be able to determine the need and extent for chemotherapy. He was referred to Vandy and UAB where they have the technology to perform the surgery laparoscopically, but he was denied by both, as he recently aged out from his father’s insurance.  The only other option is a very invasive, radical surgery that cannot be performed in Tupelo.  The surgery would have to be done in Jackson.  It would last at least 6 hours, require at least a week in the hospital and the recovery period will be extensive.

<p>Preston, Lauren, and their families are trying desperately to find a way for Preston to receive this surgery at UAB.  The hope is that he will have some level of insurance on June 1st that UAB will accept. It would be considered out of network so the costs of surgery and treatment will still be very high. Preston and Lauren have been overwhelmed with love and support from family and friends.  They have been asked how others can help them on this journey so for anyone that is wanting to contribute toward his medical expenses can do so through this Go Fund Me.  The fears and anxieties of dealing with cancer shouldn’t be compounded with the fears and anxieties of the financial burdens that come with it.

<p>Our family is all too familiar with this journey.  Lauren’s mother passed away from lung cancer 11 years ago after an 8-month battle.  It was the day after Mother’s Day in 2010 when Lauren was only 15. We are heartbroken that Preston is having to go through this, and we are heartbroken that Lauren is on this journey with another person that she loves.  While Preston’s prognosis is great, we know that this road is going to be long and hard and appreciate all the love, prayers and support that is being shown to them.

Madison James Clifton passed away on November 3rd, 2020 at the age of 30 years old in Jackson, Tennessee.<br /><br />Madison’s unique soul touched every person who met him. He was loved and cherished by many for his caring nature, goofy sense of humor, and love for life. Madison spent his life entertaining others with his music and comedic timing. He was the life of every family gathering, party, and show he ever attended. Madison’s life was cut short, but his memory will live on in every person he met.<br /><br />The family is asking for help with funding to have Madison moved to Monroe, Louisiana, where his family and friends can pay their final respects. Additionally, the family needs help with cremation costs so that Madison can be memorialized in all of the places that he called home.<br /><br />Please, send any photos, memories, or songs to wegentry at gmail so that they can be used in a memorial slideshow.<br /><br />**Update from the family:<br />We are beyond moved by the outpouring support we have received. Danielle Adams is a bright, gifted singer and teacher.  Four years ago, at the age of 22, Danielle was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer.  After several major surgeries, she remains in treatment with her primary care team at M. D. Anderson in Houston, TX.  Per doctor's orders, she left her teaching job in March of 2018. Since then, she developed an infection resulting in sepsis and an extended stay in the hospital.<br /><br />Due to extensive, life-saving medical treatment at M. D. She's currently in critical condition at MSU's College of Veterinary Medicine undergoing immunosuppressant therapy, steroids, and has had a third blood transfusion. The blood transfusions are able to buy time to allow the medicine to work. Currently, she is making slow progressions, but at an incredibly costly price.<br /><br />While she is receiving the best care she possibly could, please take a moment to send a prayer or positive thought for Lucy and Anne during this time. It's impossible to not be heartbroken over the discovery of her condition. With that being said, let's send love for Lucy by helping buy her more time to give the medicine a chance to work. As many of you may know, Sherrie Cochran has been an asset to the Tupelo community for many years working as the City Neighborhood Liaison, Environmental Planner, and Executive Director of Keep Tupelo Beautiful.  She unselfishly gives her time and effort to make Tupelo a better place through her love of trees, plants, and people.  <br /><br />Unfortunately, the last year for Sherrie has been a rough one-- Losing the love of her life suddenly and now bravely battling cancer for the second time.  Thankfully she has medical insurance, but of course that doesn't cover everything.<br /><br />She did not ask for help and didn't know we started this.  But this isn't asking for help.  This is thanking Sherrie for all of her years of service to Tupelo and to the friends she loves so well.  So let's shower her with love and let her know what a special and appreciated woman she is.<br /><br /> (All funds will go directly to Sherrie to assist with medical bills, her mortgage, utility bills and other necessary expenses during this unique time.)

TCT's production of Cicada, by Amory native Jerre Dye, will be traveling to the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Lexington, KY March 1st to represent Mississippi for the sixth year in a row.   Winner of Best Production at the 2017 Mississipi Theatre Association festival the cast won Best Ensemble, Jennifer Cummings Best Supporting Actress and Lisa Martin Outstanding Achievement in Acting.  TCT's production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee was runner-up at SETC IN 2013.  The SantaLand Diaries in 2014 and Lone Star in 2015 each won Best Production at SETC. Lone Star competed nationally at the AACTFest in Grand Rapids winning the Peoples’ Choice Best Production, Best Scenic Design and the Backstage Award. We are going to say the ugly truths and beautiful truths. The grey area between the wine colored, tear stained pulpit and the bar stool covered with stickers from out of town bands. The talented Bronson Tew will take the helm of sound engineer. He balances rawness and beauty in his recordings like it's second nature. In January of 2015 HGES recorded an EP with producer and musician <a href="http://www.simonefelice.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Simone Felice</strong></a>  in Woodstock, NY (The Felice Brothers, The Duke &amp; The King) and he will be returning for this full length as the producer. Simone has written critically acclaimed work as a musician and author. He has also produced hit records such as The Avett Brothers release "I and Love and You" in 2009. Simone brought out the best in us in those five days in New York and helped us nurture our strengths and improve our weaknesses. We believe this is the team we need to make our vision come to life. Plus the countless friends and musicians who will donate their talents and time in the studio with us. It's not a question of if or when but a question of how. We also believe this best thing to do with a gift is to turn around give a gift to someone more in need. So we have decided that 50% of all funds made after reaching our $10,000 dollar goal will go toward  charities that we feel are doing great things both here in Mississippi and abroad in the country of Haiti. <br /><br />One of these organizations help make it possible for impoverished youth in Mississippi to pay for college.  <a href="http://mclean.olemiss.edu/saves/" target="_blank"><strong>LOU Saves</strong></a>  is child savings program that seeks to improve quality of life by providing multi-generational financial education and nurturing college-going aspirations among underserved youth. LOU Saves opens child savings accounts for eligible elementary school students in the Oxford and Lafayette County School Districts. The accounts are opened with $50 seed deposits provided by the program, and LOU Saves engages in fundraising efforts to match up to $100 per year of deposits made on behalf of each participating child. Research indicates that children with a bank account in their name are 6x more likely to attend college, so the accounts are opened in the child’s name and are administered by a third party custodian. The accounts are restricted for expenses related to college or postsecondary job training expenses. Parents and caregivers of students entering the program are required to attend a financial literacy workshop and a one-on-one financial coaching session. Additional, age-appropriate financial literacy activities will be offered for participating students. <br /><br /><br />The other involves directly the family of Cody and Jake Rogers in the band. Their family along with others invovled in The Lighthouse Foundation, Freedom Fellowship, and other organizations within the community go to Haiti to build schools, wells, and homes in rural areas and teach locals how to as well. They also provide other things we take for granted such as shoes, pencils, notebooks, clothes, etc. We know where your money would go with these organizations and can promise you every little bit would make a difference. <br /><br />You will also automatically receive a download of the yet to be released EP produced by Simone Felice called "Sinai" from The Holy Ghost Electric Show when you donate $10 or over. This EP will not be released to the general public until the beginning of next year.
