<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hey, y’all! Dr. Tasha here, founder and owner of <a href="https://leftonreadbookstore.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Left on Read</a>, Wichita’s independent Black-owned bookstore and currently the only Black-owned bookstore in Kansas.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>When we opened in November 2024, we wanted to create a bookstore centered on Black literature and guided by a mission to amplify representation, cultivate perspective, and empower community. Since then, Left on Read has become a gathering place where people discover new voices, learn, create, grow, feel safe and seen, and simply be.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Building this bookstore has been rewarding and financially demanding. Our recent move to Revolutsia was unexpected, and it would not have happened without the generosity of Mike Ramsey of Bokeh Development.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Earlier this year, grant funding that supported <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@tmbpmedia" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TMBP Media</a> ended unexpectedly. Because Left on Read, <a href="https://themillennialblackprofessor.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Millennial Black Professor</a>®, and TMBP Media are interconnected, that loss negatively affected the bookstore.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I continue to teach and pursue paid consulting, speaking, and instructional work to support the business. Much of what we’ve built has come from limited resources, a great deal of work, and the support of people who believe in Left on Read and have invested in it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Taking leaps of faith is part of how I move through the world. Opening Left on Read required a leap. Moving locations required another. Being honest about where we are and asking our community to help is the next one.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For this year’s annual 11.30 campaign, celebrating two years in business on November 30, 2026, we’re raising funds to stabilize Left on Read’s daily operations, address staffing needs, strengthen inventory, maintain programming, and support the long-term health of the bookstore and community space we’ve created.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We believe deeply in what we’ve built and want Left on Read to be here for a good AND long time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’re able, please contribute to the campaign. If you can’t give right now, sharing it, leaving a Google or Facebook review, or telling a friend to tell a friend is also appreciated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for believing in Left on Read and helping us write the next chapter.

<div>On May 2nd, 2022, 5 week old Trace was found barely breathing and unresponsive to his parents' attempts to wake him. He was rushed to Wesley Children's Hospital and later transferred to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City to receive urgent and intensive care in their PICU.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>Due to a prolonged lack of oxygen to his little body, he suffered a traumatic brain injury with uncontrollable seizures and acute kidney distress. By the grace of God, he is now stabilized, becoming more wakeful, and moving around.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>Both of his parents have been beside Trace during this difficult time, but need additional financial support for traveling expenses and to provide for their other children while Trace is being treated.

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>We don't know what lies ahead for Trace and this rehabilitation journey, but we are praying for every provision necessary to give Trace a fighting chance for complete recovery. We desperately need the overwhelming support of this community to help him fully heal. We know God has plans for Trace and we are believing that He will work all things together for good!

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>This GoFundMe will assist with any medical and personal expenses his family will incur. Would you consider being a part of Trace's miracle and help support this precious family?

</div>

<div><br />
</div>

<div>Most importantly, please continue to uplift this them in your thoughts and prayers. God is able do the impossible and as long as Trace is fighting, so will we! Thank you and God bless you for your generosity and love.

<div>Help Me Bring Dominique Home

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Travel Funds for Final Arrangements

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My heart is shattered as I share the news that I have lost my son, Dominique. No parent should ever have to face the passing of their child, and the grief our family is feeling right now is beyond words.

</div>

<div>Dominique was currently in Reno, Nevada, and I am urgently trying to get there to claim his body and begin the process of saying our final goodbyes. Unfortunately, the suddenness of this tragedy has left me without the immediate funds needed for travel, lodging, and the initial costs associated with his final arrangements.

</div>

<div>How your donations will help:

</div>

<div>Travel Costs: Emergency airfare/transportation to Reno, NV.

</div>

<div>Lodging: A place to stay while I handle the legal and funeral requirements.

</div>

<div>Final Arrangements: Assisting with the costs of bringing Dominique home and honoring his memory.

</div>

<div>Anything and everything would help. Whether it is $5, $50, or simply sharing this link with your network, your kindness means the world to me during the darkest chapter of my life.

</div>

<div>I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, your thoughts, and any support you can provide to help me bring my son home.
