<div>It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved, William Hertzke Jr, affectionately known by many as “Coach Hertzke.” He was more than just a coach—he was a mentor, a father figure, a friend, and a pillar in our community. His impact reached far beyond the field or court; he shaped lives, taught values, and led by example with unwavering love and strength.

<div>Coach Hertzke was also a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather who, alongside his wife Karen, made the selfless decision to adopt and raise three of their grandchildren.

His wife, Karen, is now faced with the immense emotional and financial responsibility of continuing to raise their three grandchildren without the man who was her partner, her strength, and her best friend.

<div>Hi, my name is Kim, Williams, myself along with my family and friends, and everyone in Scott’s community will do whatever it takes to help Scott fight this cruel diagnosis of ALS amylotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Scott was gainfully employed before this diagnosis .while we are all shocked and devastated over this news. Our hopes are that Chris will have help with Scott who has recently been put on disability. Chris has been working full time and is maintaining the household. Their youngest son. Logan is heading off to college in the summer we want to help with any incurred medical expenses that insurance does not cover. If anyone is familiar with this cruel disease it is a known fact that out-of-pocket expenses can reach over $200,000 for equipment that will be needed. The last thing that I want to happen is for Chris and the children to be stressed out about money during such a difficult time. If you know Scottie, he is the most uplifting person you will ever meet his humor causes so much laughter that we forget the battle is facing , he has been selfless helping in his local community and Hazlet, New Jersey coaching the football team for HYAL has been a mentor to many students and amount will help as little as five dollars and if you can’t donate please share we really need to get the word out as ALS has no cure  Scott will be on medication’s and they are praying for a clinical trial to come along . Please find it in your heart to help this beautiful family. They are so very loved.

<div>Over this past weekend in Keyport's football competition against Lakewood High School, Senior Linebacker Logan Blanks suffered a severe neck and spinal injury. Logan was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where over the weekend he had two extensive multi-hour long surgeries to address the injury that had taken place. The doctors and Blanks family are relieved that at this time Logan is currently on path to a full recovery from his injuries. Logan has feeling, movement, and sensation in his limbs. Although he has a long recovery and rehabilitation in front of him, Logan is in good spirits.

<div>Despite the terrifying injury, the optimistic recovery is large in part due to the doctors that worked on Logan but also possible because of  the immediate care and handling that Logan received on the field from Athletic Trainer Kelly O'Donnell, Lakewood's athletic training staff and Keyport First Responders. We as a district are lucky to have such a professional, well prepared and thorough staff available to us on site.

<div>Logan Blanks embodies everything that the Keyport community takes pride in; hard working, accountable, caring, and supportive. He is everything that a parent, coach, and teacher would want in a young man in high school. The Blanks family extends their gratitude to the entire district and community for the overwhelming support they have felt since Saturday afternoon. There will be further updates provided on Logan, as well as the best way to reach and communicate with him and the family. We will also continue to provide updates on the best way to support and provide assistance to the Blanks family. We are raising money to help support a family very close and dear to all of our hearts.  As many of you already know Andrea Tsap was diagnosed on March 6 with Multiple Myeloma, a rare blood Cancer.  As a community, I would ask that we all come together and take some of the financial burden that will surely come with her treatments.  We know in these uncertain times it is difficult for everyone, but it will be most difficult for this family.

If you know the Tsap family, you know how truly wonderful they are. Andrea would help anyone in need at any time so let’s show her how much she truly means to all of us by helping her win the biggest fight of her life without having to worry about anything but getting better.

Madison &amp; Taylor are brave girls who have lost both their mother Melissa &amp; Aunt Amanda, who had raised them for half their life, to Cystic Fibrosis. They, along with their grandparents, are strong advocates for finding a cure to this horrible disease. We set up this fund for their future so that they may have all the opportunities in the world to become whatever they want in life &amp; continue growing into strong women.  <br />Please help us make their future bright as Melissa &amp; Amanda now breathe easy together watching over them❤️

Crystal was 34 year old single mother raising an 11 year old daughter. She was killed tragically by car on May 14 and left behind a grieving young daughter .  Crystal was everything to her daughter and vice versa.
