As many of you are aware, we lost an amazing musician and wonderful loving, caring humble human being recently. My little brother Gino Matteo was like family (he called me sis). His incredible heart and talent always shined through and I'm devastated as I know you all are and heartbroken that he's passed. Ginos Mom Maria took Gino everywhere as a young boy so he could hone his skills from some of the best such as Joey Delgado and Chris Cain. If he wasnt old enough to go into the clubs, momma Matteo brought folding chairs and they sat directly outside so he could listen and join in. Gino was born with a musical gift of synesthesia which allowed him to experience music in a unique way. Some Synesthetes might see colors, shapes or textures when they hear music or feel emotions or sensations associated with specific musical notes or chords. This made him even more special. His beautiful Jadie (his Momma Bear) is broken without her soul mate This Go Fund Me will help not only with funeral expenses but will help Jade cover monthly expenses and allow her time to grieve. If you arent able to donate, perhaps you can leave a note to Jade for support. Thank you

Support for Gino Matteo's Funeral and Family

Many of my musician friends are out of work during this pandemic.
Not just a little out of work, completely out of work.
Not everyone is comfortable asking for assistance or maybe tech savvy to do online shows or streaming. This is all VERY new to everyone.

I started a "Quarantine Blues" recording project to help feed my family and truly help my band members who were coming home with nothing after a large cancelled tour. The band and I have committed 10 original songs available for free to the world and in return we were given much needed support from our fans and the Blues community.

Now, we are extending this campaign to our large Blues community.
We are asking artists that are in need of assistance to contribute a song for this project and in return we are going to try and raise $1000 each for the artist and their band members. We feel this is a time of need,
but we want to give back with what we do best - music.

We have a list of musicians and bands that are in serious need right now and they are going to each contribute new music to the project.
We will announce an artist and band in need and once the amount of money has been reached, we will then announce a new artist and band...and so on.

PLEASE if you are a working, professional Blues genre musician that is out of work and in need and would be interested - please contact Mike Zito or Nick Moss to get on the list.

PLEASE if you can share - share what you can - if you cannot share financially, please share the campaign with your family and friends.

We are hopeful that the end result here will be hours of new and wonderful music that can help us all come closer and ease some
anxiety and give a little hope.

Sincerely,

Mike Zito and Nick Moss

Paying The Blues Forward

As you know, Billy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer 2 months ago. Before he got sick, he was a very active, hard working, sarcastic, fun loving father, husband, uncle and friend. My sister and Billy bought their dream house in the middle of the mountains complete with a stream running through the back of their 10 acres. They moved there hoping to find serenity and a home to eventually retire in. As you all know, they lost their son Dale in 2008 and have kept his memory alive, even in their new home. Seana adjusted to life in the "sticks" and has flourished and has recently been accepted to the Culinary Institute. This diagnosis has rocked their world, and has mounted debt due to Billy's inability to work obviously, and astronical medical bills, as well as regular household expenses. Jenn is trying to balance being the sole provider, give Seana as normal a senior year in hs as possible, and help Billy to deal with the extremely difficult treatment and side effects. We all know how theu have helped so many through the Dale Foundation and as our friends and family. Now they need US! Please help my sister and her family!

Help Billy Kick Cancer's Ass

Dear Friends

I have recently experienced some major life setbacks.

My marriage ended a few months ago, and I have been left homeless, save for the good graces of some beloved friends. With my Ebay business no longer in operation, I am currently left without a source of steady income. Conspiring in the humorous nature the universe often engenders, I now also need a second hip replacement. Yeah. It will be at least two months before I am able to schedule the necessary operation, and then three subsequent months of recovery time will be necessary before I am able to work again.

I am doing my best to avoid ending up in the NYC shelter system, but I am currently without a source of funds while homeless and injured. I never dreamed that I would would be asking for help in such a public manner - and I am embarrassed and humiliated to do so - but I find that I now need to ask for help with funds for food and shelter while going through this transition.
Any assistance you can offer will be appreciated.

I will repay every dime, and every kindness offered.

Keep The Blues Alive

My dear friend Thom Myers has spent the last 18 years keeping The World of Blues streaming 24/7—bringing fans live shows, artist interviews, and an endless library of blues history. And here’s the amazing part: he has paid every expense out of his own pocket so the music could reach us all.

Now Thom needs our help. The rising costs of streaming, royalties, and upkeep have become impossible to carry alone. Without support, The World of Blues will have no choice but to shut down.

This station has been a gift to the blues community for nearly two decades. Let’s give back and make sure the music doesn’t go silent. Every donation—large or small—helps keep the blues alive for listeners around the world.

Please donate what you can.

Share this campaign with other music lovers.

Leave Thom a note of encouragement—your words mean so much.

Together, we can keep The World of Blues playing strong for years to come.
