<div>I'm Ahmed Abuamsha (I also go by the stage name Ahmed Muin, links to my music are below the text) , a teacher of music at the American School of Gaza and an instructor in guitar playing at Edward Saeed Institute for Music in Gaza. Before the war of 2023 on Gaza Strip, I used to have a sound recording and Producing studio called "Awtar for Sound Production" where I used to compose, write lyrics and engineer sound on songs whether they were for children, commercials , advertisements or love and popular wedding songs . My studio was deigned according to the professional specification. It was on the ground floor of my house , on the main street of my neighborhood of Olive Quarter (Ezzayton Neighborhood) in the Southern part of Beit Harroun, Northern Gaza. .It consisted of three places:
</div>
<div>a) Recording room.
</div>
<div>b) Control Room.
</div>
<div>c) a small salon.
</div>
<div>The recording room had a lot of valuable equipment: it’s walls were covered with wavy sponge blaster, double-hard-glass window, and it had jacks, cords and cables, high-quality microphone and iron stands for music notes and headphones . The control room had a five-system of sound speakers "Mackie", a sound mixer, 3 guitars and 2 organs (one of them was oriental).

<div><br />
</div>
<div>My story begins when we received messages on our mobiles , ordering us to leave immediately or our lives would be in great danger. Frightened and sad we left everything except the light clothes on us . In the middle of the night where there wasn't any light but the lights of our mobiles while the F-16 fighters bombarded the far side of the city of Beit Hanoun as if they were pushing us to move to the south part of the city and the drones were surveying the area hovering over our heads with relentless noise . Believe me, it was a real nightmare! Flashing was blazing the dark horizons of the skies , and there was a deafening explosions every now and then. We kept running until we reached the suburbs of Jabalia Refugee Camp. We found shelter in an UNRWA school, where we slept on the ground, on stairs, for there wasn't any room. My family and siblings were 51 people.
</div>
<div>The next day, our shelter was bombarded by an artillery bomb. Again we ran away, as women and kids were screaming with fear and panic . We continued to walk on foot until we arrived at Gaza (Gaza city). There was no place to stay or to find a shelter. So we decided to move to Khan Younis since the Army ordered the people to go beyond Wadi Gaza (South of Gaza Valley) .We stayed for 51 days at another UNRWA school . Finally, we left Khan-Younis off to Rafah.
</div>
<div>Now, here we are in a plastic and wood tent, facing the ever new strange conditions . My father decided to disperse the family. Now, here I am, on the 181st day of the war on Gaza.
</div>
<div>I, who have nothing , borrowed a Spanish guitar from a friend in Rafah , playing music and singing with kids to change the mood of the kids and started to tour the displaced war-refugee centers , creating an atmosphere of fun and happiness though the kids are still under the trauma.
</div>
<div>Two days ago, I applied for implementation of a new initiative which I prepared to set up a group of artists, actors and activators in order to help kids who bear the psychological agony of war; death and destruction - to participate in the activities that would be performed in the refugee centers.
</div>
<div>This is my family, the ones that I live for and enjoy loving them even in a small plastic tent and under the shelling of all kinds of old and new state-of-the-art weapons, killing hundreds of people in the wink of eye. We are not safe.
</div>
<div>There is no medicine to cure cold , diarrhea , bad dreams, and bedwetting for the kids, and hepatitis A became epidemic.
</div>
<div>Things get even worse when it rains to find all the mattresses sink in rain water
</div>
<div>When we sit together in the tent, we recall the happy moments and remembering how decent life we had. We never needed anybody to help anyway. My business was flourishing by performing wedding parties and teaching music in addition to my production in the studio. My kids never lack anything but today life has shown it's ugly face and my lifetime line has dropped backwards 180 degrees. Now I feel how trifle life is, no house, no studio, no teaching, and no job . Depression began to creep with the annoying sound of drones and I don't know whether death is waiting for us or we are waiting for it. I cry out loud ''Do you hear me out there???’’ I lost my civilization of 30 years. Everything has gone with the wind. Square Zero.
</div>
<div>But there always a tiny light at the far end of the dark tunnel. There is a sound inside me saying,'' Hey, you ! Why not start over again ? It's not the end of the world . If you lose everything, don't speak a word but use your weary tools and begin to sing the song of hope!''
</div>
<div>Hope always comes with the help of good- hearted people. We are human beings like you . We have good expectations and plans of hope to survive and start again.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The fund aims to
</div>
<div>Restore my life-style back , a house and a studio.
</div>
<div>I appreciate your help very much .Thank you so much in advance for your efforts and I pray for you to be healthy , wealthy and ever happy.

Support me & my family spreading joy and music in Gaza

<div>Hello dear Supporter
</div>
<div>My name is tasneem, and I am an 19-year-old student from Gaza.Last summer, I proudly graduated from high school with A+ mention and a perfect GPA (95.4%)filled with hope and excitement for the future. As a young woman, I felt blessed to have a family I loved and a community I cherished deeply.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Throughout my academic journey, I've always strived for excellence, earning top marks and straight A's. My dream has been to receive the best education possible to serve my community in Gaza.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Yet, before I could fully embrace this opportunity, tragedy struck. The war-ravaged our homes I lost both my home and my job due to the ongoing genocide in Gaza and we are facing catastrophic living conditions , our communities, where we faced unimaginable hardship with no access to basic necessities like water, food, electricity, or even internet.
</div>
<div>Before the war, my days were full of attending lectures, doing extracurricular activities, and volunteering I always seek to be the best version of myself on everything.As the war continues on.Suddenly, I find myself trapped in a cycle of despair, unable to pursue my education or help my people in their time of need.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is why I turn to you, kind souls, to help me find an educational scholarship so that I can complete my studies
</div>
<div>Every donation brings me one step closer to achieving my goal of serving my community and alleviating the suffering of those around me.

Help your sister from Gaza buy food and build my house

<div>My name is Younis Al-Shaghnobi, I am 27 years old, and my sister, Lynn, is 11 years old. We are displaced from northern Gaza. I currently live in southern Gaza, supporting a family of 6 in very difficult circumstances.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/80425965_1734471409482864_r.jpeg" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am trying to support my family in Gaza to overcome the exceptional circumstances due to the ongoing conflict there. During the past months of this war, I have provided all the support I could, but with the economic conditions, my status as a refugee, and a large number of my family members, my father, mother, and siblings, what is happening now is a shortage of everything, and if it is available, it is expensive. My mother suffers from joint and neck pain, and medications are not available, and if they are available, they are expensive. Our younger brothers dream of safety, living, and peace, which they hope to find as soon as possible. I ask my donor friends to help me because during the past period I was helpless.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/80425965_1734471353506498_r.jpeg" width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I hope this message reaches you well. I am writing to you with a sincere request to help support my family, who are currently facing very difficult circumstances in Gaza. As you know, the region has witnessed great unrest, and its impact on civilians has been devastating. My family is among those who have been deeply affected, and I am asking for your support through GoFundMe to help them get through this difficult time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Gaza has been through a lot of hardship, with limited access to basic necessities, including food, clean water, healthcare, and shelter. My family has been struggling to meet these basic needs due to the ongoing conflict and the resulting disruptions to daily life. Despite their resilience and determination to overcome these challenges, they need outside support to help them rebuild and regain a sense of normalcy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am asking for donations to help my family meet their most pressing needs, including medical care, food, clothing, and safe housing. Your support will have a profound impact on their well-being and provide them with a glimmer of hope during a time of uncertainty and despair.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I would appreciate it if you could help me get through these difficult months and explore ways to partner with me on a campaign that will directly benefit my family in Gaza. This platform has a reputation for bringing people together to support meaningful causes, and I believe my family’s story is one that resonates with many who value compassion and humanitarian assistance.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your time.

Help Younis, Lynn and their family survive

<div>Keep Airport Road Environmental &amp; Safe ("KARES")
</div>

</div>
<div>Sponsored by the Conservation Easement Preservation Society (CEPS)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>ARE YOU AWARE…
</div>
<div>…of the proposed annexation of the Kanemoto Estates Conservation Easement and the planned development's negative impact on surrounding neighborhoods and traffic congestion across SW Longmont, including the entire Airport Road corridor?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>...and that, as reported in a recent CDOT meeting, CO 119 already has the highest number of vehicle crashes in Boulder County?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>...and that Boulder County continues to terminate inherently perpetual Colorado Conservation Easements?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>ARE YOU CONCERNED? Will you help us fight?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If so, we invite you to join the KARES support community by donating to our sponsor, the Conservation Easement Preservation Society (CEPS), a Colorado tax-exempt nonprofit. 100% of donations to CEPS support the KARES Legal Fund.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>KARES is a coalition formed of Longmont citizens (renters and owners have equal voices) who primarily reside in the Clover Creek subdivision and oppose the proposed development.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>OUR BELIEFS ARE THAT:
</div>
<div>1. Kanemoto Estates is a poor location for a mixed residential neighborhood because the proposed zoning is high density and is far from amenities, activity centers, and public transit. It also impacts our already crowded schools.
</div>
<div> 2. Approving the annexation and development of protected agricultural land in a conservation easement wastes environmental resources and will negatively impact property values and homeowners’ sentiment.
</div>
<div> 3. The annexation and proposed development pose traffic and safety hazards on Airport Road, Clover Creek, and surrounding neighborhoods.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>STEPS KARES HAS TAKEN SO FAR:
</div>
<div>• We have retained an attorney to represent our case against Boulder County, and if necessary, continue our legal challenge with the State of Colorado and the City of Longmont Planning Division.
</div>
<div>• On September 12, 2023, KARES filed a lawsuit in Boulder County District Court contesting the Boulder Commissioner's decision to terminate the CE and on February 26, 2024, the judge issued a rare grant of Legal Standing allowing KARES to move forward with the merits of our case. The case is currently ongoing.
</div>
<div>• We have raised over $50,000 to cover our initial legal response. An additional $20,000 is required to fund legal representation for the upcoming court case.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>HOW YOU CAN HELP MODIFY THE ANNEXATION AND DEVELOPMENT:
</div>
<div>• By raising additional money needed to fund our legal objectives. Donate here or write a check and message us for pick up. Join the KARES support community by donating!

<div><strong>10/9/22 Update: City Council Election, November 8, 2022</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For those who are unaware, there is a vacant at-large Longmont City Council position open. There are three candidates running.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>KARES attempted to engage all three candidates in a public discussion.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Upon their request for additional information, each candidate was directed to the KARES GoFundMe page. Of the three candidates, two have not provided any follow-up communication. The one remaining candidate assertively supports the KARES objective -- Gary Hodges. Gary visited Clover Creek, spent a few hours in the neighborhood, and went to view the Conservation Easement. Gary has also added the Protection of Conservation Easements as his third campaign issue (and mentions Kanemoto Estates Conservation Easement), and because he has done so, it has gained more notice from the public and groups that have been interviewing him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have never had a political sign in our yard, but we thought putting one of Gary's signs in our yard made sense at this time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Gary has followed up with KARES several times since our first meeting. If you would like more information about Gary or would like to put a sign in your yard, his web page and his contact information is below. Please contact him directly.

</div>
<div><strong>9/10/22 Update: KARES Status, Answers, &amp; Action Needed</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We'd like to provide another update following recent inquiries into KARES and important actions by KARES.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The most important thing to know is that to activate the next phase, we have a 2-week deadline of September 23, 2022, to reach at least $7,700 of the $50,000 needed for the KARES legal fund law firm retainer. The KARES core team and initial members have been directly paying the majority of the KARES legal expenses from their own pockets, prior to, and outside of the GoFundMe fundraising.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please, we need your donation, no matter how small. We have stalled the road access into Clover Creek but we have not completely prevented it. We are currently investigating whether the development change to a proposed emergency road will actually become a utility corridor leading to road construction down Fountain Court and Clover Creek Drive.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please also contact your friends, family, co-workers, and acquaintances to donate to the GoFundMe now.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For those who want more detail, here is a quick summary of work to date:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the past 24 weeks, an average of 35 hours per week has been invested by the KARES team to spread the word/inform/outreach, investigate, fundraise, leverage legal resources, partner with allies, and interact with government entities. The KARES team has also attended county commissioner meetings, CDOT meetings (Airport Road &amp; CO-119 changes, safety issues, etc.), and City of Longmont planning meetings. Please forward KARES any emails and responses you have sent to the city, county, etc., so we can factor the content into the KARES initiatives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>KARES has completed an extensive investigation into case law, legal proceedings, and related research to understand not only where initiatives similar to KARES have failed but also where initiatives similar to KARES have succeeded.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>KARES has contracted with the professional law firm of Weiner and Cording. The senior attorney has assumed management of our case. Our attorney will continue directing our concerns to legal resources that may have a Statewide impact. The goal is to prevent both the Kanemoto development and any further municipal abuse of the Landed Treasures of Colorado, our Conservation Easements.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since the KARES initiative helps Clover Creek, Airport Rd, the surrounding areas, and potentially the entire State of Colorado, please send this email update to friends and family outside Clover Creek so they may also consider donating to the cause.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We understand that you are busy - so are we. It's not too late to get involved.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is not a done deal.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The money is not going into a black hole – legal resources have stated that KARES has minimized all legal costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you can help fundraise or donate to the GoFundMe, please do.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is in KARES best interest to refrain from emailing our legal strategy; however, if you need to understand more about our strategy in order to feel comfortable donating, fundraising, and/or taking on tasks, please contact KARES and we will arrange an in-person discussion.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you,
</div>

<div>KARES (Keep Airport Road Environmental &amp; Safe)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>July 22 Update: Keep Airport Road Environmental &amp; Safe (KARES)</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The KARES team is working to oppose the annexation, removal of the conservation easement, and the proposed development of Kanemoto Estates.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are happy to share that KARES’ efforts resulted in the developer removing his plans for the public access road adjoining Clover Creek with the new development. This would have generated large amounts of traffic driving through our neighborhood. However, it appears the developer is still pursuing a gated road to be used as a possible utility corridor. Since this green area is an HOA asset, we will continue to challenge any plan to compromise our property.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>KARES raised funds to hire attorneys who submitted the first official comments of opposition to the City of Longmont on our behalf and are continuing these fundraising efforts for future legal costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All neighbors in Clover Creek (south of Pike) have received information about KARES, with many signing up to receive email updates from us, and several households have donated towards the cost of the attorneys as we move forward into the next phases. In addition, neighbors have been sending their comments to the City of Longmont to amplify the voice of KARES.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As we continue our work to modify the development, here are some things you can do to help:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you know of people that disagree with Boulder County's willingness to sell conservation easements to developers, please forward our information to them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Send us an email if you would like to be more involved with our efforts to oppose the development. We have a number of different teams.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Look for continuing follow-up emails from KARES with defined opportunities to send emails to the city, county, and other entities at significant points in the proposed annexation and development processes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Share the KARES pamphlet and GoFundMe site with family, friends, co-workers, etc to increase our coalition's effort to oppose the Kanemoto Estates annexation and development.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Donate through our GoFundMe site to help defray our costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks for your support as we work hard to oppose the annexation of the conservation easement for development purposes. This conservation easement land was set aside to be protected for the residents of Longmont throughout the generations and we are marshaling all our efforts to ensure it remains that way.

<div>My granddaughter Trinity had a serious accident on Halloween night and has since been in the Intensive Care Unit. Her body was badly injured with a broken femur on the right leg, shattered ankle and foot on the left side, a fractured pelvis, shattered jaw, cracked ribs and broken tailbone, as well as a chip on her C spine. The night of the accident she had a successful surgery on her femur which was protruding through her skin after the accident.

<div>She is back in the Operating Room today, Nov. 6th, to repair multiple fractures. She will have her final surgery Thursday, Nov. 9th, on her jaw to begin her recovery. She will need multiple surgeries down the road to remove hardware that has been placed to help stabilize her limbs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The surgery she is undergoing today will give her the best chance of having some sort of normalcy back in her life. She will be rehabilitating for the next year and won't be able to walk for several months. Her jaw will be wired shut for the next month so she will be on a liquid diet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking friends, family and community to please consider supporting her through financial contributions while she is in her recovery period which include:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>-Rent and living expenses $1,500 monthly X 6 months so she doesn't lose her home; totaling $9,000
</div>
<div>-The medical costs will be in the millions and after her insurance coverage, the portion she and her family will be responsible for will well exceed $200,000.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Medical Staff have shared that it's truly a miracle that she survived this accident. Trinity has been the family's miracle baby since birth, coming into the world two and a half months before her due date and spending three months in the hospital before making it home into the arms of her Mama.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your continued prayers. Any and all financial support would be deeply appreciated. I will be sending updates through this platform every few days, so you can follow her recovery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Warmest Regards,
</div>

<div><strong>FINAL UPDATE - Thank You</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Our brother passed at the age of 47 on Saturday, September 30th</strong>,<strong> </strong>right after the harvest moon that he longed to see. Through extreme suffering, 2 years since his diagnosis, he achieved mastery in life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those that were around him in the last few months witnessed the transformation — his own grief brought on by the insufferable illness and old wounds and struggles that he carried for too long — all that remained was forgiveness, gratitude, kindness, and pure love.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those that cared for his needs while his body waged war served him in reverence. An honor and focal point for so many, observed through a weeklong stream of visitors - childhood friends, college roommates, a beautiful amalgamation of community from 25+ years in Boulder, and steadfast heartfelt new community that Atif built during his critical stages with ALS.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He passed peacefully at dusk, Maghrib time, with his siblings cradling him in love and prayer, and God’s alignment evident in nature’s signs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Atif will be remembered for his gentle spirit and smile, kind eyes that quietly conveyed his heart’s message, intellect and wise perspectives that left friends and strangers in awe, love for the outdoors, love for books, childlike joy, his will to live life uniquely his way, and his determination to survive and die when he knew.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He will continue to be a beloved son, brother, uncle, and dear friend in all of our hearts. <strong>A gallant trailblazer that fulfilled his life’s purpose with dignity and is directing ours.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Atif’s intention was to return to open land, leaving a low footprint on Earth. His form laid to rest directly in soil with a view of the canyons at the Colorado Burial Preserve. His soul has returned Home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un : “Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we return."
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Please honor him and remember him in your own ways. He held immense deep gratitude for your generosity.</strong>

<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Dear Friends, </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We want to update you about Atif's current state and needs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Atif has been with Hospice since December, when it was medically determined that he would have 6 months or less to live. Between December and mid-February he endured 2 different nursing homes where the conditions were very difficult and he was in a lot of distress.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In mid-February, he was fortunate to have been able to move to a private rental outside of Boulder in a beautiful, pastoral neighborhood. His friend Kondor used Atif's funds to hire caregivers to provide 24/7 care. While the situation is not perfect, and Atif's condition continues to deteriorate, he would really like to be able to stay in this private rental through the rest of his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Medicaid will soon start to pay for much of his caregiving, which will make this private option a bit more affordable. In this current period before the Medicaid funds are available, and once Medicaid caregiving kicks in (when we will need to pay for supplemental care) we would like to make a heartfelt request for donations to allow Atif to continue to live in this quiet, supportive environment. If you are able, would you consider donating what you can to help pay for his care and rent over next few months?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please also help us spread the word.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With our deepest gratitude for what you have already done for Atif and for what you continue to do for him,
</div>

<div>I am here to ask for support in facing my experience of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amyotrophic_lateral_sclerosis" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ALS</a> (a/k/a Lou Gehrig's disease), a rare and life-threatening illness which has truly impacted every aspect of my life. I cannot complete my biggest treatment goal without the support of others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It has been a year now since we first shared the news of my diagnosis and survival period. In that year I have undergone significant loss of motor function and body mass. I am entirely dependent on the care of others, this includes eating, bathing, dressing, transferring (from beds, chairs, wheelchairs), and composing this message you are reading now. This is all in addition to the psychological process of grief and mourning my own physical loss in a very short span. In April I returned to Colorado with the certainty of being able to join a Healey Platform Trial for ALS.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On June 27th I underwent surgery for a chest port so I can continue to receive IV’s and have blood draws. In June I also began participating in a trial testing the efficacy of a drug called Trehalose for the slowing of ALS’ progression. To date I have not felt any improvement or benefit from the weekly infusions I have been getting. At the beginning of August I had a fall and fractured my hip, after which I spent 10 days in a rehabilitation hospital. That experience weakened me immensely and I had to fight to be discharged before completing their prescribed 30-day stay.
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/60498257_1667606510836680_r." width="100%" />
<div>I am fortunate now that I am with my best friend for nearly around-the-clock care. Last week I had a pulmonary function test to show my breathing to be sufficient for the placing of a feeding tube. That also qualifies me for a trial that involves cortical stem cell transplantation into the cortex of the brain. I have been in the screening process of this trial and am planning to travel to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles for final approval on November 8th. The transplant and procedure are being funded by the NIH and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine. However, this funding does not cover my costs of travel, assisted living, and various arrangements I must make in order to stay in LA and participate in the trial. Below are links to the clinical trials government website, and a blogpost by Cedars-Sinai’s neuroscience department.

<div><strong>Original Post, One Year Ago:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our older brother. The one we intrinsically look up to. He has a wise soul, trusting to a fault, and the most loving and generous heart. His doctors at The University of Colorado Neurology Clinic - Anschutz Medical Campus have given him <strong>1-2 years to live</strong>. <strong>Atif has been diagnosed with ALS </strong>(<a href="https://www.als.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis</a> ), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>We are in learning mode and trying to understand how to slow down the rate of muscular deterioration and enhance his Quality of life.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>ALS is a <strong>rare neurological disease </strong>that affects the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement. People experience progressive loss of the ability to move, eat, speak, swallow, and eventually, breathe. Sadly, there is no cure. According to the CDC, approximately 5,000 Americans are diagnosed with ALS every year.

</div>
<div>Atif has been in a lot of pain for more than a year now, and the twitching and muscle movement loss in his lower extremities is beginning in the upper. Independently living for his entire adult life, an avid hiker and nature lover that embarked on a solo 2-week trekking trip to Iceland in 2019 - it’s become difficult for him to perform daily tasks, and Atif is now staying with his brother.

</div>
<div>Given the uncertain road ahead, but the known ending - <strong>we are humbly asking for any support you desire to give to help toward his quality of care. </strong>Treatment options are limited and time-sensitive. Stem cell treatments appear to be the most promising as they have the potential to halt, delay, or ameliorate the effects of the illness. The costs are fully out-of-pocket, and most treatment centers reside outside of the US. We are in the process of registering with <a href="https://anova-irm.com/en/treatments-disease-stem-cells/neurodegenerative-diseases/amyotropic-lateral-sclerosis-als" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The ANOVA Institute for Regenerative Medicine</a> near Frankfurt, Germany. We are continuing to vet all options with the guidance of doctors and family referrals.

<div>Showing him that he has love and support in his corner is critical to strengthen his mental fortitude. And we hope, enables him to push on and share lasting memories with his much beloved nieces and nephews, parents, siblings, and dear friends. We are coming together as best as we know and doing what we can to support him emotionally and financially. Your additional support means everything.
