<div>Hi everyone,

<div>On February 6, 2026, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Since then, life has changed very quickly not only for me but also for my family and loved ones. So far, I've gone through two rounds of chemotherapy treatments with a third scheduled. I've had days that have tested me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Though the treatment has been hard, I'm continuing to believe in God's almighty power by fighting with faith, family, and friends.

<div>My next major step will be a bone marrow transplant. During this process, I will need to temporarily relocate and stay close to the hospital for approximately three months after the transplant. I will also require a 24-hour caregiver during recovery, as my immune system will be extremely compromised, and I will need constant support and monitoring.

</div>


<div>Because of the intensity of treatment and recovery, <strong>I am asking for help to ease some of the financial burden that comes with this journey.</strong> Donations will help cover:

<div>To know my dad, Kevin Reid, was to love him. He was indeed a special guy. He was funny, witty, a great father, and a loyal friend.

<div>My dad had a giving heart and was full of life. He loved to laugh and make others laugh.

<div>As many of you know, he was one of the best athletes to play at West Charlotte High School and throughout all Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. He was co-captain of the 1986 State Championship Basketball team. After High School, he played basketball at Winston-Salem State University and Johnson C Smith University, where he made lifelong friends.

<div>In 2000, my dad was involved in a severe car accident that paralyzed him. Although he faced many obstacles with his health and financial burdens, my dad was determined to live life.

<p>We are Arlene and Darlene Mitchell, the only children of William Gay. <span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Our daddy, AKA “Sarge” was ALWAYS the life of the party! If you knew him, then you know he was FULL of jokes.<br /><br />Unfortunately, he succumb to health complications and took his last breath May, 25th. Losing a parent is an unexplainable feeling and his presents will be missed. Receiving those random phone calls just to tell us, “Daddy loves y’all” will FOREVER live with us. </span>

Our Daddy’s Home Going (William  Gay) AKA SARGE

<p>Meet Rojea McCook, fourth form (10th grade) student of Jamaica College, Kingston - aspiring Medical doctor, loving brother and son, and my nephew.   Rojea was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in early 2019 and underwent a 2-year battle that included multiple chemotherapy treatments, radiation, and surgery. Though grueling, our future doctor remained upbeat, determined to beat this disease, and eager to return to school. Our family was overjoyed when we finally received news that his scans came back clean. Rojea continued to pursue his studies in September 2020 and looked forward to realizing his dream.
</p>

<p>His scan to confirm remission was delayed for months due to covid, and when it was finally completed the family received the devastating news that this disease has returned and in a more aggressive way.  Rojea's doctors have advised that he will need immediate access to treatment and facilities that are not available in Jamaica in order to beat this difficult but treatable lymphoma.  His doctors referred his case to St. Jude's, but it was declined as his condition wasn't considered rare enough for them to treat.  There is some urgency as action needs to be taken to suppress the spread to get him ready for the bone marrow transplant.
</p>

<p>Please consider contributing to this fund as it will literally save the life of someone who is determined, and who wants to be an asset to his country.  The family wishes to thank those who have provided support and prayers. The battle is lengthy, and we hope you will join those who love him to open the door to a beautiful, meaningful future.

Chemo and bone marrow treatment for Rojea

Mama Nonkululeko's Circle of Support

On Sunday afternoon May 9, 2021, 19 year-old Johnnie Magbie and his 28 year-old brother Ahykeem Jones along with their mom, went on a Mother's Day boating trip along the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.   While enjoying the family outing, Ahykeem fell into the water and became quickly distressed.  Johnnie immediately jumped into the water and tried to save Ahykeem, but Johnnie also became distressed.  Both Ahykeem and Johnnie never surfaced from the water as their Mother screamed for help and watched in horror.<br /><br />Bystanders,  the Fire Department and Emergency Services and Law responded but could not locate either of the two brothers.  After an exhausting search, both brothers were recovered from the water on Monday afternoon.<br /><br />Johnnie was a Senior at West Brunswick High School where he was a stand out Football player.  He was set to graduate in just a few short weeks.  Ahykeem, was from Henderson, NC, but in Supply, NC visiting his family for Mothers Day.<br /><br />This family needs our help.  These circumstances are incomprehensible and one of a Mothers worse nightmares.   Please help if you<br />can.  As requested by GFM, funds raised will be directed to Mr. James Bryant, stepfather of Johnnie.<br /><br /><a href="https://www.wect.com/2021/05/11/brunswick-co-teen-brother-identified-victims-drowning/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://www.wect.com/2021/05/11/brunswick-co-teen-brother-identified-victims-drowning/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.wect.com/2021/05/11/brunswick-co-teen-brother-identified-victims-drowning/</a></a>

Financial assistance for the Magbie Family

Our hearts and our prayers go out to the family of Johnnie Magbie and Ahykeem Jones. Both men were lost in a tragic boating accident on Mother's Day in North Myrtle Beach.  Words cannot express the loss that you have experienced this past week. For the West Brunswick High School family, as well as the Guy C Lee family, and for our entire community, We will be praying for you in the coming days and weeks ahead.  Know that you are not alone.  Ahykeem and Johnnie will be missed and never, ever forgotten by us. <strong>Holden Allen Wright<br /></strong><strong>A Celebration of Life<br /><br /><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLSstD0qh9U"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLSstD0qh9U" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLSstD0qh9U</a></a><br /><br /></strong>Holden was only 28 years old when he tragically lost his life to drug addiction.  His Mother, Karen Couch (and my best friend) is heart broken.  Karen is currently on disability and struggling financially with her own medical bills and many hospitalizations for Holden during his battle with heroin.  Rather than hide the details of this tragic loss, the family hopes that their painful loss can help raise awareness of the horrific opioid crisis in our nation.  Parents, families, and friends please be aware of how easy it is for a child to become addicted. Stay alert, be aware, and be there to love and support them in their daily lives. The loss of a child is a pain so great that all Karen's extended family and friends are needed to offer pray up and lend support to Karen during this journey.<br /><br />I decided to start this GoFundMe page to help pay for expenses for a funeral/memorial to celebrate the life of her only son - Holden Wright. Celebration of Life - Holden Allen Wright

‍♂️ Hey It’s Raekwon Rissa’s baby boy. My Mom was called home the early morning of May 13, 2020 after battling cancer and a few untreatable diagnosis for several years and now she’s finally at peace. I want to have a beautiful memorial service and burial for my mom unfortunately she didn’t have any insurance. Anything will help &amp; be greatly appreciated.
