Hi everyone, long time no update - it's bunnie! I'm very, very low on energy, so I'm going to get right into it. Since this update is majorly delayed, this is going to be longer. Asks at the end!
1. CAT STUFF - Out of my Aug. haul from the shelter, I kept 1 bag of litter and donated all of the food to someone who can use it since I can't use those foods. I received some snacky pouches and 8 cans of Fancy Feast that I can mix into my cats' food to stretch out my existing supply! I used some funds to buy 2 packs at the store and also had a 24-pack of wet food and 1 bag of litter arrive via the wishlist recently! Very grateful for community! I want to believe I can be okay for most of this month.
2. INCOME - I have 3 temp gigs currently (had 3, but 1 was canceled). One of them lasts just two days, and what I make will depend on how the events go; they take place mid-month. The seasonal gig I mentioned last time - I've been training and completing coursework, and my first deposit payment should show up tomorrow. Unfortunately, as I said last time, the paid training is very short each week, so that's 5 hrs/wk, and I'll be making less than $100/wk. Incredibly grateful that I have this, however. Let's hope I can pass the license exam later this month.
3. CHECK-IN: Between everything I have to do with these temp/seasonal jobs, I haven't had time for anything. My stress has led to a bad flare of an on-and-off illness, so I inadvisably have sidelined a lot of tasks like keeping all of you updated, etc. Mentally, I'm very all over the place. The stress is immense and I've had every possible trauma of mine activated in August, but I'm hoping the things that have happened for me can lead to good opportunities. If anything, I've been getting some info on more reasons I had so much trouble on this job hunt; people explicitly said they thought I must be using AI to write because the way I write professionally is very polished & rehearsed, and I think this has to have had some impact.
4. ASKS - I just scraped by at the end of August, and if I don't pass the license exam in one go, I will not be reimbursed by the company; I would basically eat all the costs of licensure, which total around $400. That is a TON of money for me....
If folks could keep me in their thoughts the rest of this year and beyond in case I get slammed with unexpected accidents/expenses that put me way over budget... and in case the main gig doesn't actually pan out the way I want (e.g. less hours than promised), I'd be grateful. Cat supplies via the wishlist are always needed, and all funds go toward life necessities; if I didn't have community contributions of freebies like distro food and hygiene supplies, I wouldn't have made it.
Thank you so much for reading; I'm writing this while half out of my own body, so my apologies if I seem brief anywhere or just did not write very well. Whether you're dealing with heat waves, hurricanes, or whatever else, I sincerely hope you're taking care and getting good rest when you can!
