<div>My name is Naomi and this GoFundMe is to support my friend Marita and her husband Akawasi, while they navigate Atarah's NICU journey.

<div>In March of this year, Akwasi and Marita were excited to learn they were pregnant with their fourth baby. During an ultrasound appointment, the couple were surprised to discover they were pregnant with twins. In the middle of September, via C-section, the twin girls were born 8 weeks early. Due to their prematurity, the sisters were placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to grow and develop.  From the beginning, the twins have been resilient. Akua has required minimal medical support and has been recently discharged, Atarah is requiring medical/respiratory support due to prematurity,  pneumonia, and chronic lung disease. Atarah is currently sedated, on a ventilator, and it's undetermined at this time when she will be discharged home. Marita, a dedicated Occupational Therapist, has been staying at the baby('s) bedside since their birth, making trips home to visit the couple's older children. At this time, Marita is unable to work and Akwasi is working two jobs to support the family. Due to the unforeseen medical expenses and time off work, this family could use some support. Your donations would help this family focus on Atarah's NICU journey and bring her home to join her siblings, once she is healthy and strong.

His residency at STATE Gallery + Studios has produced some of the most exciting, beautiful and significant work that we have ever been fortunate enough to hold in our space. He is a light to our program and a joy to be around.

<div>An already accomplished artist, Lorenzo was an easy welcome into our scholarship program - we instantly loved his work and the way he spoke about it. Over the course of getting to know him, that love only grew. The pride we feel in his work and in his choosing our community to be a part of can not be stated enough.

<div>Our hearts are with his beloved family as he heals from the many injuries he sustained from the car accident late Tuesday evening. <div>I would like to extend my love and appreciation to the Nashville Forge art family, the Clarksville art family and the many, many friends that surround us in their grace, love and support through this unexpected difficult journey.

<div>Lorenzo is a light and force for so many, but to me, he is my heart, my fiancé, my guiding light. He illuminates my world, he speaks to my soul. Lorenzo is the laughter that encompasses our household, my partner in all things, especially shenanigans, a mentor and friend to my 3 teenage sons. His soul is as beautiful as his smile.

<div>I haven't heard that laughter or seen that smile in more days than I'd like recall. On February 7, 2023 Lorenzo was involved in motor vehicle accident that has left him severely injured on the entire left side of his body, including a fully collapsed lung and damaged diaphragm.
</div>

<div>To date he is on his third surgery and at least two more hang in the balance. The road to recovery to walk again will be the longest fight he's ever had to face. We are hoping with your love and support, we will be able to financially get him the care that he will need. 
</div>

<div>Lorenzo just resigned from his job that left him overworked and stressed to accept a position that would give him fulfillment in serving our local homeless community. He was looking forward to this positive change that would allow him to feel rewarded in his daily work just as he feels rewarded in his art. In making this change he was left without medical insurance.

LORENZO SWINTON - Emergency Medical Funds

<div>Hi, we are Kerry and Dennis, raising funds for our friend Shelly Robinson after her devastating house fire on August 10, 2022, where she lost everything, including vital and expensive medication. She also attempted to save her beloved cat, but sadly, he is still missing. Shelly is currently staying in a hotel, as her home is destroyed and unlivable.

Help Richelle Shelly After Devastating House Fire

This has been put together for JD by myself and Candi Satterfield. Please contact either of us with questions, concerns, or comments. <br /><br />J.D is a great young man who has been forced to endure and overcome so many things. He has done so with grace and dignity. He never meets a stranger and greets everyone with a caring smile. <br /><br />He has been through so much and faced every excuse to give up but has stood firm working two jobs while going to school . He lost his mom and biggest supporter to cancer a few years ago.  Due to his age he was unable to play football this year but was at the games supporting his friends and his team. He spent his senior year helping with the special needs students. He was a stand out student who deserved to be recognized.<br /><br />On the way to his graduation his car broke down. Instead of giving up he walked the rest of the way to graduation only to arrive late (before the students walked across the stage to accept their diplomas).  When he arrived  he was told by the faculty of Gaston High School that because he was late he would not be allowed to walk during graduation.<br /><br />If anyone deserves a break it is JD.  With this Go Fund Me we would like to raise enough money to get him a reliable car and cell phone. <br /><br />Remember every little bit helps, if you cannot donate then please share this post to get the word out.
