The Beverley Sand Sculpture Trail
by Paul & Remy Hoggard
We plan to over the next couple of years to establish a sand sculpture trail starting with 12, 10 to 80 ton sand sculptures in different locations throughout Beverley.
The theme of this unique public Art show is,Beverley through the Ages.
Each sand sculptures will be a unique work of Sand Art built by Paul and Remy, will be stunning in their details and totally non political and 100% family friendly.
The sculptures will be made both indoor and outdoor.
The outdoor sculptures will be covered with a gazebo style cover with a glass frontage.

Duration
We have a similar sand trail in the famous bird gardens of Tehran,Iran that have been in place for 4 years under cover and behind glass that are still in great condition and get viewed and appreciated by thousands of visitors every week
We plan to keep the sand trail on show to the public for 5 years.

Locations..Indoor and outdoor..
We will choose several locations that we feel are perfect for our work, like Westwood, racecourse, swine moor, Beck side, new walk , the Minster, Longcroft, toll gavel, Ship Yard..
we will also work with local and national companies to sponsor works on they premises, we will design all sculptures together with our partners and sponsors
maintenance
We have a team of volunteers who will take care of cleaning the glass every month.. And also make any simple repairs..

we are looking for locations and we want to work to first visit our ideas on the council and see if we can work together so that more will benefit from the councils participation from the very beginning of this venture, as most of the potential venues come under the control of the council..

All the sculpture scenes will portrait historic facts times and people of Beverley and situations and events that happened throughout the ages,
The Vikings and Romans and other cultures have left their mark on the town over the centuries..
we would for instance at the racecourse propose to make a a life-size forced perspective base relief sand sculpture of the most memorable horse races photo finish.

The Beverley Minster is the jewel in Beverley crown
we plan to reproduce the Beverly Minster with 80 tons of sand and put a raise scaffold walkway around so the public can observe the sand sculpted replica up close.. We would prefer to make this sculpture in the Minster itself.or in a large covered area or tent close by.

Market, Beverley,s famous market in its hay day..

Shipyard, I watched the last boat launched at the ship yard as a small boy, and my grand father worked there for years so i would love to make a sculpture scene of what i saw that day ..

So We have the expertise and local knowledge, all we need now is to find the right people within the community and the local council, who can help us with any advise contacts, sculpture ideas relevant information or proposals to help see this project to fruition. if you can help
contact [email redacted] .

Have you enjoyed seeing the first sand sculptures of the Beverley Sand Sculpture Trail appear in Beverley this year? Seeing the big sculpture of the Minster appear at Flemingate in June, and watching it staying up, in great condition, for 3 1/2 months afterwards. We are reusing the 30 ton of sand and turning it into new additions to the trail. Have you seen the Alice and White rabbit in it's stunning location in St Mary's church already? Did you get to see the impressing Memorial sculpture in the spectaculair location of the Beverley Minster itself in November? Will you come see us create the St John sculpture in the Minster and diverse photo opportunity sculptures in Beverley garden center in December?
Do you want to help us realize these sculptures and future sculptures of the trail? You can help us.
One way is to make a donation to the trail on the gofundme page https://www.gofundme.com/the-beverley-sand-sculpture-trail
You can also help with In-kind Sponsorship:
All sponsors will be included in our media and advertising of the trail, we will make your logo in sand in the garden center.
Instead of paying cash to sponsor the Beverley Sand Sculpture Trail, a business or individual can donate goods or services. Do you have a hotel, bed & breakfast or accommodation; we need accommodation for the artists in the periods we create sculptures. Do you have a restaurant of bakery; you could provide meal coupons for the artists. A builder could provide the use of sand and materials (sprayers, shovels, rake, hose pipe etc). There are many ways in which you can contribute In-kind to the sand sculpture trail.
Send us a message if you want to help us realize these new additions to the sculpture trail. You can also join the Facebook group Beverley Sand Sculpture Trail. This is a group of people and businesses that actively help the realization of the trail.
Let's build more sand sculptures in Beverley together!
