Help Nepali Women Build a New Life

Donation protected
My friend Nasreen, whom I met at the Aspire MAD Women's Leadership event in Chicago, is from a small village on the Nepal-India border. She escaped a life of impending forced marriage as a young girl and actual slavery in a sweatshop - to become a global leader training young Nepalese women in handi-craft arts - opening the door for their financial independence. The women she trains are achieving success, gaining confidence, skills and independence. Her goal is to finish building projects and create space for more sustainable projects, By completing this building she will be able to help evey year 35 women to gain education along with their craft. She only needs $20, ,000 to make such a sustainable difference in the lives of these young women. If you are moved or called to help her and be a part of her vision, you can contribute here. She is a young woman with an old soul and a giant's heart. She will be in portland until Oct 20 and let's plan a get together so you can meet her! And please share this with your friends!
Any additional funds raised over the 15k  goal will go towards building the sustainable projects for the women.

 What is Local Women's Handicrafts?
Local Women's Handicrafts is a fair trade sewing collective based out of Kathmandu, Nepal. LWH focuses on empowering and educating women with the intent to change the social and cultural norms in Nepal. The collective is comprised of women who are challenged by physical disability, come from abusive homes, are fleeing extreme poverty, or just looking to educate themselves to move forward in their lives..

Help us finish lwh building project campaign and why it’s important to us.

This campaign is an effort to assist in the completion of the LWH building project. The first floor is built and 28 women are already receiving  assistanc.  The builiding is in the middle construction so when it rains water pores down to the  ground floor creating alot of problems for the women in the existing space.  By completing this builiding project we will be able to create space for more women needing our assistance.
The magnitude of what you as a funder will help us achieve.

When you contribute to this campaign your donations and intentions will echo into the history of women's rights in Nepal. Nasreen is the first woman of her village to stand up and deny a forced marriage; it has already caused extreme upset to the social status of her family there. Her stance on this marriage and what she has achieved so far with LWH is nothing short of revolutionary in her society. The first floor of the house is already built with the help of supporters from all around the world just like you.

A Eco friendly house (lwh learning center)
We are looking to raise 20k to support the building of the  Local Women's Handicrafts center. The center is designed to be sustainable and independent with Bio Gas toilets and cooking facilities, solar power, rooftop gardens, and onsite well and water purification. Any additional funds raised over the 20k will go towards building the resources of the LWH collective by purchasing textiles, machines, and promotional materials, further projects.. Thank you
