Dara and Evan Getchell are from Wells, MN and have 8 children - Riley, Byron, Bebo, Leeland, Ivan, Silas, Remi and Lyla (due 11/10/16).
On October 30, 2016, they took their 7-year-old son, Bebo, to Urgent Care in Albert Lea. After some concerning blood work, they headed to the Emergency Department at Mayo Rochester where further tests were completed. The next day, they received confirmation that Bebo has leukemia. He is currently undergoing intense treatment at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Dara and Evan will also be welcoming their daughter, Lyla, into the world on November 10.
Their oldest son, Byron, has Type 1 diabetes which also requires careful monitoring and is a constant concern for them.
They will have many trips to and from Rochester to be with Bebo, the other children will be cared for by grandparents, family and friends when mom and dad are in Rochester, and they will be adjusting to life with a newborn when Miss Lyla makes her debut.
