Zyon Needs Your Help for Surgery

Hi Guys, I’m here reaching out for help with Zy’s Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy ( TPLO ) Surgery. TPLO Surgery is a common surgical procedure performed on dogs to stabilize the knee joint after a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture or injury.
Our 3yr old fur baby tore both his CCL ( Cranial Cruciate Ligament - which is basically his ACL in human equivalent ). His left CCL is partially torn and his right CCL is fully torn/ruptured. He is needing immediate surgery for his right one and after 8 weeks of post surgery recovery he will have to do his left side ( hopefully it doesn’t fully tear by then ).
Zy’s breed ( American Bulldog ) is prone to this injury but usually happens later on in life but unfortunately for him it happened in such a young age. Zyon has insurance ( Costco Pet Plus ) but unfortunately they don’t want to cover it even after over a month of back and forth with the underwriters and exclusion agents with supporting documents from his vet to help with reconsideration for them to cover the hefty cost of the surgery.
As of right now Zyon is on a very strict minimal to no usage of both his back legs except for potty breaks. He is unable to go on his usual walks, play and run around and most devastatingly play with his fur and human friends. He alternately limps or drag his left and right foot to be able to walk and sometimes the lameness on his right back legs shows more than the left.
we are currently waiting on his official surgery date and in the meantime he’s on strong pain killers and anti inflammatory ( Gabapentin & Metacam ) we’ve started giving him joint supplements and cutting back on his daily caloric intake to decrease his weight to help with the post surgery recovery.
So far we’ve already spent a little under $1500 for the check ups, imagings, bloodworks and meds. They have quoted us a little under $10,000 for both right and left surgery not including post surgery therapy. We’ve looked around and got a second opinion and a couple of quotes but his actual vet hospital in caledon gave us the best possible price they can as they know the struggles we had with the insurance.
I know times are rough for everyone right now but if you can and able to help us help Zyon be back to his normal self WE and Zyon from the bottom of our hearts would really really appreciate it .
I know that theres a handful of people that love Zyon as much as we love him and we’re here to ask for help, support and even just sharing the link would definately go a long way.
