We are the Rogers family and we are raising funds for our son/brother Zachary.

Zachary was out riding his bike when he was hit by a car. Sadly the car did not stop nor did they call the authorities to issue an ambulance to come to his rescue. He sustained a great amount of trauma throughout his entire body beginning with fractures to his spine, clavicle, ribs and sternum, and brain trauma. He also suffered 3rd-degree road rash throughout 40% of his body that required extensive skin building and grafting, especially in the areas where the bone is exposed. Due to being dragged under the car, he also needed reconstruction surgery on the left side of his neck, face as well as his left ear, which was amputated during the accident. 

Zach was treated at BAMC BURN unit and we were told that his total recovery process will be between 6 months to a year or longer. We are very blessed that Zach made it through alive and was a long recovery process. While he did have health insurance, it did not cover the medical expenses because BAMC is a military training hospital and is out of network and the cost so far is astronomical, in the area of $300,000. We are working with BAMC and Zach’s insurance to offset most of that cost. .

Zach has made a miraculous recovery but may still require reconstructive surgery but at this point not a priority. Last year, as of March, 2025 Zach started working and is now finally able to live and support himself independently. However, we received a letter from the government that Zachary owes $41,000 immediately or they will garnish his wages until the bill is paid in full. This will not only cause a financial burden but also a financial hardship. I am here to ask for help.
