Hi!
I want to start off by saying thank you if you're reading this!
Writing this was no easy task. As a Weitman, asking for any kind of assistance is probably the hardest thing in THE WORLD. I felt this was a good reason to reach out, though.
I'm Genesis, my parent's oldest child, and I am here to ask you for help. Very soon (Nov. 7th, tentatively), my parents are to undergo major organ surgery -- my mom will be donating a kidney to my dad that is in end-stage renal failure due to lupus -- and both of them will be down and out of work for a while.
As a current college student, there is only so much that I can offer them (taking over with upkeep of the home, making sure my brother is taken care of, preparing meals, etc.), but the one thing I can't offer them is to help financially. At Texas Lutheran University, the school I attend, I work in the Development Center and I work as a grader for anatomy and physiology. Apart from that, I work at Seguin High School as a marching tech. Despite having these 3 little jobs, I am unable to sufficiently help my parents as much as I would love to, and with this downtime and limited income, they need the help more than ever.
That brings us to why you are reading this. My parents are not the type to ask for said help, so I decided to try and ask for them. My dad is a deputy and my mom is a nurse. They each give so much to their communities and it would be so special if, for this situation, maybe their community could help them out, too. Anything at all would help, and I know that they would be so grateful to know that someone was willing to help them out, as I know they are stressing about it.
I would love for them to go into the surgery with even a little less worry than they have now. Please keep us in mind during this time.
Thank you for reading <3
