When I moved to Philadelphia in December 2024, I thought this would be my forever home. Circle around to December 2025 and I am laid off from my consulting job due to a reduction in force. I started a new role in February and have thus been let go. Here is the issue: I can't make ends meet.

Right now I have 2 scenarios:

1. I start a new job by October 1nd can stay in my Apartment. (Or gig work)

2. I don't start a new job and have to break my lease (60 day period mandatory + losing my security deposit for early lease termination) in Philadelphia and move in with my family in rural nc which would be a death sentence since I don't drive and there aren't many jobs.

Option 1 is the goal, but option 2 might be the outcome. I have 0 savings due to the former unemployment period, a financially difficult medical condition that has been expensive to take care of even with insurance, and a lack of resources. Add in the fact that I have a senior dog that is nearing the end and I am on the verge of a mental breakdown.

I'm asking for support to help keep me in the first place I have felt grounded. I am frantically applying for jobs and doing everything I can. Any support would make the world.
