Saying goodbye to someone as special as my mom is one of the hardest things I have ever faced. For those who knew her, or were ever lucky enough to be in her presence, you will remember a woman who was vibrant, full of life, and always quick with a joke. She had an infectious spirit that made every room brighter, and her genuine love for people was felt by everyone she met.

Music was at the very heart of who she was. Whether she was singing along to her favorite songs or simply humming a tune around the house, music brought her immense joy and she shared that joy freely. Her laughter was as memorable as her melodies, ringing out in moments big and small, reminding us all of the beauty of simple pleasures.

My mom was so easy to love. She had a way of making every person she encountered feel special, seen, and appreciated. Even if you met her only once, chances are you left with a smile on your face and a little more warmth in your heart. There was always something to love about her – perhaps her kindness, her humor, or her unwavering positivity.

I choose to remember all those wonderful things about her. As she lies in hospice, I hold tightly to the vibrant, loving, and musical woman she always was. That’s the image I want to carry forward – the one of my mom laughing, singing, and spreading joy to everyone around her.

Now, as we prepare to say goodbye, I know her spirit and the love she gave will continue to live on in every life she touched. Thank you, Mom, for being so easy to love, for filling our lives with laughter and music, and for showing us all what it means to truly care for others. You will always be remembered with love and gratitude.
