UCDVO MOEI Education Project Cambodia

Hi, my name is Orla Devlin, I'm a first year medical student in UCD and this summer I am travelling to Cambodia for five weeks to volunteer teaching English as a second language to students attending local free community schools with UCD Volunteers Overseas in partnership with the MOEI Education Project

I will be paying my own way there including flights, vaccines and other expenses, so all of your generous donation will go directly to supporting this great cause.

MOEI is a project established by the University of Hong Kong in 2008 to provide intensive English-language education for migrant children and adults from Burma located along the Moei River section of the Thai-Burma border.

In an effort to help reach my fundraising target, I will be making use of my recent qualification as a yoga teacher, and offering yoga classes, and in lieu of payment, kindly asking people to make a donation to my cause.

Additionally, around the time of Easter Sunday, I will be completing 108 sun salutations on the beach, beginning at sunrise.

In yoga practice, 1 represents the focus on one thing and the verticality of breath, 0 symbolizes having zero senses and preconceptions, and 8 stands for uniting with the flow of infinity. Yogis traditionally perform 108 sun salutations on solstices and equinoxes to express their gratitude and devotion.

It will be a significant challenge, expected to take several hours, and I invite people to join me for as many salutations as they would like.
