Darcy O’Donnell is a beautiful, bright, and joyful little girl who will turn three this July. In April, her family’s world was turned upside down when Darcy was suddenly diagnosed with high-risk Stage 4 Metastatic Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.
Darcy is now undergoing intensive treatment at Children’s Health Ireland in Crumlin, including chemotherapy, surgeries, stem cell transplantation, radiation, and immunotherapy. Her treatment journey is expected to last around 18 months and will involve long hospital stays, ongoing care, and immense emotional and financial strain on her family.
Despite everything she is facing, Darcy continues to light up every room with her courage, humour, and infectious personality. She loves singing, dancing, arts and crafts, painting, flowers, and searching for fairies, and she continues to smile through even the toughest days.
As friends of Megan and Keiron, we are reaching out to ask for support for this loving family during the most devastating time of their lives. Originally from South Africa, they are facing this heartbreaking journey far from home, with very little local support around them. Since Darcy’s diagnosis, their entire world has become hospital visits, treatments, uncertainty, and trying to stay strong for their little girl every single day.
The emotional and financial strain they are carrying is unimaginable, but they continue to face each day with incredible strength, love, and hope for Darcy.
We are asking anyone who feels moved by Darcy’s story, whether you know the family personally or not, to please consider supporting them. Every donation no matter how small, every message, and share reminds them that they are not alone in this fight and helps give Darcy as much comfort, joy, and care as possible throughout her treatment journey.
