Help Us Build a Water Well in Memory of Radwan
We are raising funds to build a clean water well in Somalia in honour of our beloved student, Radwan, who tragically passed away last year from cancer.
This well will serve as a lasting tribute - a source of life that continues to help others every day, keeping Radwan’s name and spirit alive through acts of compassion.
Access to clean water in Somalia is a life-or-death issue. Over 8 million people, 41% of the population, lack safe water and sanitation. Waterborne diseases are the third-leading cause of death, especially among children. In many communities, women and girls walk more than 10 km daily to collect water that is often unsafe, putting their health, education, and safety at risk.
A community water well can transform lives. It provides reliable, clean drinking water close to home, reduces disease, improves nutrition, and allows children to return to school. It also helps families grow food and care for livestock, especially during droughts. One well can serve hundreds of people for years to come.
In Islam, providing water where it is scarce is one of the highest forms of charity - a source of sadaqah jariyah, or ongoing reward. Every drop of water, every illness prevented, and every life improved will be a continuous blessing in Radwan’s name.
This is more than a fundraiser - it’s a legacy of compassion, healing, and hope. A gift that will keep giving for generations.
