The McKie Memorial Fundraiser

Thank you so much for visiting our page! Our names are Charlotte and Rori and we will be shaving our heads in August, alongside some other incredible people, to raise money for two charities that we hold very close to our hearts. We have chosen to donate to The National Breast Cancer Foundation and The Black Dog Institute in loving memory of Charlotte’s parents, Jane and Michael (Harry) Mckie. Breast cancer takes the life of approximately 3000 women every year. The National Breast Cancer Foundation conducts world-class research to increase the chances of early intervention and save lives. In 2007, after a hell of a fight, Jane passed away at the hands of this cruel disease. The legacy of her strength has inspired us to shave our heads for such a worthy course. On the 13th of August 2021, we lost a bright light in our lives, loving father of Charlotte, Hamish and Isaac, Michael (Harry) McKie. “Dad was known for his lack of political correctness and what he called his ‘wicked’ sense of humour.” To honour the happiness that Mick brought to so many lives. We decided to donate half of our proceeds to The Back Dog Institute, helping to fund important research in order raise awareness of Men’s Mental Health. We are extremely grateful for the support we have already received for our endeavour to create ‘The McKie Memorial Fundraiser’ and ask that you donate to this Go Fund Me page or simply share with friends and family. The fundraiser will be held at Passmore Oval on 27/08/2022, and we welcome anyone and everyone who wishes to come along.. Thank you for all your support!
