Greetings!

We are Team Feeding Hope, a small nonprofit organization working to help end hunger in our community. Food insecurity, which is limited access to nutritious foods, is at a rate of 21% in Denton County, which is almost double the national food insecurity rate. There are a number of reasons why people suffer from food insecurity, such as economic stress, job loss, disabilities, or illness. Many organizations across North Texas are working to address the hunger crisis.

The organization that we have chosen to work with is The Hunger Project. The Hunger Project uses the donations it receives to enable communities and individuals to overcome hunger. Their mission is not only to provide an immediate solution but also a long-term one: “To facilitate individual and collective action to transform the systems of inequity that create hunger and cause it to persist.” They educate people on how to help themselves by addressing the cause of their hunger issues and becoming self-reliant. Their impact is twofold: providing solutions to those who suffer from starvation and educating people to prevent starvation in the long run.

Our campaign to help end hunger begins on Sunday, July 5th, and runs until Sunday, July 19th. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to the Hunger Project. Please help us reach our $300 goal by making a donation. Any amount helps.
