Hello, my name is Ashley and I am raising funds for my mom, Michele's medical transport home and rehabilitation expenses. For the past couple of years, she has not been able to enjoy life to the fullest due to random back pain that radiated down her leg, making her stay in bed for sometimes days. In July, she had surgery to correct this. Five days after being home, she was in excruciating pain and went to the local ER. Where she was admitted to Neurology. After 10 days of agony, no resolution, and losing the ability to stand and walk, she was medically transported to Seattle where she had another back AND neck surgery. She has been there for nearly two weeks now. We are working on getting her into a rehabilitation facility in the Eugene area as she is weak and still unable to walk. The only problem is, the hospital will not discharge her unless she has a medical transport. Insurance will not pay for this. The most cost-effective ride home is a little over $4,000, up front depending on the time of day the transport is. The rehabilitation center will be 20% out of pocket, which could be around $200 a day for an unknown amount of time. Anything helps to bring mom closer to home and stronger.
