For those of you who know me, you know my heart belongs to animals. One night, as I was leaving one of my jobs, I was stopped by an elderly gentleman. This was in a senior housing community, and this gentleman had found a cat locked in a “storage area or basement.” I am not exactly sure of the premise. The owner had abandoned her, and she had been locked in there for a while. Unfortunately, Rochester currently has a very large crisis with stray cats and cat colonies, along with abandoned animals. The shelters and rescues are beyond capacity. It was late on a weekend night when this happened, and I couldn’t, in good conscience, leave this cat. The man was pleading because no one would take her, and he had a cat. ‍⬛ So, almost three weeks ago, I took this little girl I named Luna in.

The plan is to get her back to a fighting weight and healthy and then to re-home her to a forever home. She had her nails growing into her paw pads and sores around her neck from scratching. She is the sweetest girl ever. However, I have noticed a few things now that we are into week three. I am 98% sure she has diabetes. If you know me, you know I have three fur babies of my own and work two jobs. If the situation wasn’t so dire, I wouldn’t have taken on Luna. Luna and I need a little help to get her to the vet and her blood, glucose, and urine tested. If anyone can spare a little to help me offset this cost, it would be greatly appreciated.
