Some people come into our lives and leave footprints. Others leave a hole that can never truly be filled. Kris’s brother, Erick “Metric” Johnson, was one of those people. On the evening of October 9, 2026, Erick was struck by a vehicle in Bellflower, California. Tragically, Erick did not survive. Just like that, Katie Johnson lost her husband, brothers lost one of their own, and so many people lost someone they loved deeply.

Erick leaves behind his beloved wife, Katie, his partner in life for 20 years. For those fortunate enough to have known Metric, you know just how special he was. He was the kind of man you could count on. In the good times, he was there to celebrate with you. In the bad times, he was there to stand beside you. He was a husband, a friend, a brother, and an incredible human being whose presence made the lives of those around him better. He was loved beyond words, and his loss has left so many absolutely heartbroken.
