On Tuesday night, our family’s world was turned upside down.
My husband, Josh, was brutally assaulted outside of a bar in downtown Sacramento. What started as a normal evening quickly became a life-threatening emergency.
Josh suffered multiple serious injuries, including:
* Subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding in the brain)
* Subdural hemorrhage (bleeding around the brain)
* Fractured nasal bone
* Facial abrasions
* Multiple abrasions to his lower body
Because of the severity of the brain bleeding, doctors have warned that Josh is at extremely high risk for a second concussion, which could be fatal. He has been placed on strict restrictions and is unable to work while his brain heals.
Just 2–3 months ago, Josh took a huge leap of faith and started his own fencing business, Capitol Brothers Fencing. He was working tirelessly to build a better future for our family. As many small business owners know, the first few months are the hardest, and he was only beginning to get his feet off the ground.
Now, everything has come to a sudden halt.
We have three children who depend on him, and during this difficult time we are facing overwhelming financial stress. With Josh unable to work, we need help covering:
* Mortgage and household bills
* Groceries and necessities for our children
As his wife, watching the man I love lying in a hospital bed with bleeding on his brain has been one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. We are incredibly grateful that he is still here with us, but the road to recovery will take time, rest, and support.
If you feel led to donate, no amount is too small. If you are unable to give, we would be deeply grateful if you could share our story and keep Josh and our family in your prayers.
We are trusting God to carry us through this storm.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers, and support.
