Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts. On November 19th, my sister and her family - Joelle, Ian, Dakota, and Jackson - experienced an unimaginable tragedy when a fire destroyed their home and mostly everything they owned. While we are grateful that everyone is safe, they are now facing the heartbreaking reality of starting completely from scratch. They’ve lost everything, including cherished memories and essential items. We are coming together to help rebuild their lives during this incredibly challenging time.
In an instant, everything was gone. They lost all their belongings, clothes, furniture, personal items, keepsakes, and the everyday essentials that make a home feel like home. Their two teenage sons lost all their clothes, school items, electronics, and cherished personal things, including a beloved pet iguana. Even Luna, their family dog, has been left without her familiar space and belongings.
On top of the fire, Ian was recently diagnosed with aggressive gallbladder cancer and is currently on leave from his job. After three surgeries, and countless appointments and visits, he will be undergoing chemotherapy at Henry Ford in Detroit every two weeks for the next two years. Words cannot express the heartbreak and devastation this family has faced in the last few months.
Funds raised will help provide immediate living needs, clothing, essentials, health care visits, transportation costs, and the lengthy process of rebuilding their lives after losing everything. Any contribution—big or small—will make a meaningful difference to our wonderful family as they navigate this overwhelming time. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity during this extremely difficult time. ❤️
