Support for Washington Ferret Rescue & Shelter

Want to join me in making a difference? The purpose of our organization is to ensure the safety and well-being of the ferrets entrusted to us. It is our mission to care for abandoned, outcast, displaced, and forsaken ferrets until they are adopted or until they pass away. We are the largest and oldest ferret rescue in the United States with over 275 ferrets in our commercial facility and in our network of foster homes. Our operations date back to 1997.
Unfortunately, not all ferrets obtained from pet stores or breeders will remain in the same family for the duration of their lives. Ferrets are surrendered to shelters and rescue organizations for a variety of reasons, including allergies, landlords, financial difficulties, neglect, illness, and abuse. As a rule, most animal shelters are not equipped to care for ferrets. If an owner is forced to give up his or her ferret, they may have to consider euthanasia or, in the worst-case scenario, turning the ferret loose. It is not possible for our domestic ferrets to survive in the wild. We provide a loving and responsible alternative for owners that must relinquish their pets.
Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter is a non-profit, educational resource for the public to teach about the ferret, as well as working as a rescue and operating a ferret-only commercial animal shelter. It relies completely on sponsors, donations, grants, volunteers, and contributions from the public. We invite you to join us in our mission to ensure the safety and well-being of ferrets. Your generous contribution in the form of a tax-deductible donation or grant will help us provide emergency medical care, medications, food, shelter, and much-needed new cages for the ferrets in our care. THANK YOU! for your support.
