Hi, my name is Hailey, and I am a former resident of 50 Riverdale Ave, but I am also a young mother of two, a daughter, and a granddaughter. Unfortunately, my family and I lost our home to the fire that occurred on April 28th. My grandmother, who was the owner of our apartment, has been a resident here for over 35 years. She allowed me, my children, my cousins, her children, and even my own friends to make memories there. Those memories are all we have left. We lost everything to the fire and were left with nothing. As a whole, we are a family of 6 and are trying to make ends meet with whatever we can right now. We haven't received any vouchers for a place to stay, so we are using whatever we have saved up to use on hotels to just have a place to sleep at night. I kindly ask for help from anyone, in any way possible, whatever you can offer, we will take. We aren't worried about any items lost in the fire, but we are just happy and are thanking God every day that we are alive. Unfortunately, we did lose one of our pets, and two more are in critical condition. I am constantly praying for us and any of our fellow residents who were affected by the fire. About 18 families are currently displaced, and several others were hospitalized due to the fire's aftermath, including my uncle. It's been a lot on everyone, but we'll take whatever anyone has to offer. We are hoping to find a new place to try and call home again, and just essentials for us, and especially my children.
