Support Delilah Prada's Life-Saving Liver Transplant

Hello, my name is Delilah Prada and I was diagnosed with end stage liver disease in April of 2022. In 2023 I had to have my gallbladder removed, which damaged my liver further. I was then given the unbearable news that I only have 2 to 5 years to live without a transplant. Medical treatment has been given to me to keep me going until I can receive a healthy liver. I was put on the transplant list on June 14th and I am 19th on the deceased donor list. I am also eligible for a living donor transplant that gives me a better chance to go into this surgery in a healthier state. I have been fortunate enough to have one of my co-workers come forward to be tested for a match. Ryan Armijo has passed the first two phases of qualifying for a donor. He is currently at UCHealth Transplant Center-Anschutz Medical Campus undergoing his final testing to confirm him as a matching donor.

Once we receive a confirmation Ryan is a match we will move forward with scheduling the transplant. Approximate times in ICU is 14-20 days depending on the outcome of the surgery. During that time I will be monitored for bleeding, and any complications that may occur. Ryan will also be in the hospital for a period of time.

We are required to stay in the Denver area for at least 3 months. During that time I will have to see the doctors on a weekly basis until I am released to come back to NM. This life altering medical situation has been challenging not only emotionally, but financially. We have never been one to ask for help, but as you can imagine the expense of an organ transplant is a huge financial burden. I have no choice, but to go forward with the transplant if I want to live.

My spouse will be my caregiver while I am in recovery. This is going to be a long recovery and healing process. Your donation, no matter the amount will directly contribute to alleviating our financial burden allowing us to concentrate on healing and getting back to normal activities.

8/1/24 Update: We were just informed by the staff at UCHealth Ann Schultz medical center my co-worker is a match. The surgeons anticipate surgery taking place in mid-September. Your continued support and love is a blessing.
