Support Coach Rachel's battle with Cystic Fibrosis
Donation protected
No one fights alone! Please join us as we fight alongside our JV Cheer Coach Rachel Nicolson. Coach Rachel was born with the life-threatening genetic disease of Cystic Fibrosis. In November 2018, she successfully underwent a double lung transplant. However, since that time, her body is now rejecting her lungs and at the age of 27, she is in need of a second double lung transplant. Coach Rachel is on full time oxygen and has had to completely alter her lifestyle and on most days all she can do is just breathe.
Coach Rachel is a former Chaparral High School graduate and Varsity cheerleader. She is also a graduate of Colorado State University-Pueblo where she spent all four years in college as cheerleader, and has now found her calling as a Ponderosa High School Cheerleading coach.
Coach Rachel has dedicated her life to mentoring and coaching young athletes. She has a never-quit attitude and has demonstrated true heroism and leadership both on and off the mat. Coach Rachel loves this sport and despite having to carry her oxygen with her, continues to show up to practices and competitions. Coach Rachel even received the CSCA 2021 "Perseverance Coaches Award". Coach Rachel is now forced to pack up her life and move to North Carolina for a minimum of six months in order to receive new lungs. Unfortunately, her Cystic Fibrosis has progressed so severely that new lungs is Coach Rachel's only option at this time. Please help us by donating to support Coach Rachel and help her get the lungs she desperately needs so that she can rejoin our Ponderosa Cheer Family! Thank you for joining our fight and supporting our message that no one fights alone!
