Bec Needs Our Help - Support Bec's Battle!

Let me introduce you to Bec, she is a 36 year old beautiful young individual of remarkable intelligence, humour, resilience and kindness. Bec’s life journey has been incredibly challenging ever since she was a child. She experienced significant childhood traumas including sexual, physical and emotional abuse. These traumas have followed her into adulthood and impacts her to this day.
At 30 years young, Bec’s health spiralled which left her in a medically induced coma for several weeks after suffering many complications and multiple organ failure. Since then she has been completely wheelchair bound and lost all of her freedom and her ability to work or drive a car. The many complexities have added additional trauma leaving her to battle with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), major depression, and anxiety daily.
Bec currently receives daily central line (catheter through the chest) treatment that can go for up to 12 hours a day. Bec’s overall abilities have diminished and she now requires support workers who are present around the clock in her home and nurses that come in everyday for treatment. Without all of this, Bec’s life is on the line. Bec’s physical mobility has deteriorated and she is now dependent on a powered wheelchair. Without the right transportation (wheelchair accessible van), Bec has very limited access to multiple medical services outside of her home let alone doing the little things she loves like a stroll on the coast to enjoy the sea breeze, catching up with friends or eating at her favourite restaurant. Bec’s reality right now without this vehicle is incredibly isolating.
This is where we come in. Bec urgently needs a wheelchair-accessible van. Without it, her ability to attend crucial health appointments and engage in the community is severely limited, putting her at risk of further health complications and deepening isolation. Because of Bec’s traumas and physical limitations, this has made it impossible to utilise wheelchair taxis or public transport. The van is more than a vehicle; it's a lifeline that would change Bec's life, giving her the autonomy and freedom to participate in everyday activities that most of us take for granted.
Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in Bec's life. Thank you for your time – your support means the world to her and us.
