My name is Amy Malene. On Sept 22, 2024, my husband attacked me. He seized me by the throat, covered my mouth and nose with his other hand, and slammed me against a wall. Then he dragged me out by my neck to our garage, then slammed me again on the concrete floor before dropping his 500 lbs on top of me to smother me. After much screaming and pleading, he let me go and I escaped. My sister and mother came from Chicago and helped me to flee. I managed to bring my dogs and what possessions we could pack in our cars.

I sustained a sprained spine, whiplash, concussion, several bruises, and welts on my neck, back, and hips. The emotional toll has been immeasurable.
