Stand with Maraya Against ALS & Lyme

Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit to ask for your help in supporting my incredible sister, Maraya Cobian, who is courageously battling a rare and devastating disease.

Right around her 52nd birthday, Maraya first began experiencing troubling symptoms. After months of confusion, testing, and searching for answers, she received a crippling diagnosis in March 2024: a rare and aggressive combination of Lyme disease and ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Since then, her health has rapidly declined – affecting her ability to move, speak, and care for herself.

Her world—and ours—has turned upside down.

But the one thing that hasn’t changed is her unwavering love for her family. Anyone who knows Maraya knows that her heart beats for her family. She’s the proud mother of four and the adoring grandmother of seven beautiful grandkids. Her children and her grandchildren are her world - they are her everything and her reason for fighting.

Her biggest wish is simple but powerful: to see them grow up, to watch them chase their dreams, and to be there for life’s special moments.

Right now, Maraya is fighting for that future, and alongside her every step of the way is her husband Will – her high school sweetheart – who would do anything to ease her pain and give her more time and more amazing memories with her kids and grandkids. Their love is the kind that most people dream of, full of devotion, strength, and decades of shared memories.

In the face of this heartbreaking diagnosis, and after exploring many other unsuccessful options, Maraya wants to begin stem cell therapy, a promising but costly treatment that offers hope of slowing the progression of her illness and improving her quality of life. But the cost is staggering—and unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by insurance. Between the therapy itself, medical travel, and necessary support, the financial burden is overwhelming for her family.

We are humbly asking for your help in raising $12,000 to help cover the cost of her treatment, travel, and related medical expenses. We are hoping with the help of loved ones, Maraya can continue down this road to recovery and stay in the fight.

Every dollar will go directly toward her treatment and care, giving her a real chance at more time, more hugs, more laughter, and more memories with her children and grandchildren.
