Donazione protetta
Hi friends,
As many of you know, I’ve been training for the Boston Marathon, which is coming up this Monday, April 17th. This will be my second time running, and third time training (I got the flu last year), but I’m really excited because I’m hoping to raise some money for the Boston Animal Fund through Boston Animal Care and Control. I am lucky enough to work pretty closely with the team at the Boston Animal Shelter through my work with Boston’s Environment, Energy and Open Space Cabinet. This team is so kind, generous, and loving. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the staff and animals on a few occasions and always leave feeling happier and desperate for a dog of my own.
At the animal shelter, the team provides medical treatments, temporary housing, and support in finding forever homes for animals that need them. This effort holds a special place in my heart since many of my favorite dogs in the world like Jax, Rollo, Gobby, Ivy, Leia, and many more, have come from rescue shelters like this one. It wouldn’t have been possible for these dogs to join my family if it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of their volunteers and staff.
I’ve had a tough time training this year and have been dealing with a knee injury, which is why this has taken me so long to create. But I’m ready to hit heartbreak hill with my friends and colleagues knowing that we’re doing something good for animals that need help. So if you’re able to, please consider making a donation to the Animal Shelter (and to my dear friend Kat Eshel’s fundraiser (https://www.gofundme.com/f/kat-runs-for-cats-and-dogs), who crushed her training and is also raising money for the Boston Animal Shelter). And if you’re not able to donate money, please consider sending me good vibes and energy on Monday! I think I’m going to need it.
Thank you so much for your kindness!
