Support Mentoring Young Detroit Artists
Please Support Space Invaders, a unique opportunity for young Detroit artists of color to be mentored by a group of accomplished artists of color who inspire and challenge their students to create compositions born from invading the physical and emotional spaces in which they live. Students gain perspective and self-awareness to demystify their lived experience – capturing and nurturing their belief in themselves and what they can accomplish in any space they choose to be.
Under the guidance of artists and Capturing Belief's co founders Romain Blanquart and Khary Mason students apprentice in the crafts of their mentors: printmaker, draftsman and photographer Rashaun Rucker, poet Peace Bell, podcaster/storyteller Shannon Cason, filmmaker Jalyn Baity, artist and educator Sabrina Nelson.
Capturing Belief and S.A.Y. Play Detroit were awarded a Knight Art Challenge matching grant from the Knight Foundation. Please help us raise the last $15,000 needed to create this unique mentoring experience. All your donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for your invaluable support.
Romain, Khary and the Capturing Belief Team.
