I'm a freelance Producer.
I've been part of South Florida Film Community for over 15 years. I couldn't be more proud of all the experience and joy I get from this big and loving family.
We as a community have suffered a severe impact of political decisions regarding the film incentive.
Everyone I know is going trough some change and facing difficulties because of this and I understand we are suffering as well...
But RIGHT NOW our brothers and sisters in PUERTO RICO need our HELP!!!
Their people and its contagious influence has proven to be a BIG part of our work in COUNTLESS productions SHOT in Florida.
Movies, Music Videos, Photoshoots, Novelas, TV Commercials, etc etc
Many of us have gone to shoot big productions in Puerto Rico too and I have to say their film community is amazingly accommodating and profesional.
In the past weeks I've been volunteering for hurricane Irma relief operation down in the Keys along with many successful organizations like Navillus, Coalition of Hope, Third Wave Volunteers, Humanity Road, and many many others that had put together the biggest relief operation for Irma in South Florida .
Many of you have witness and follow all the love and effort I have put in to this cause.
As of now we collected so much supplies and the residents are so happy with the distribution that the county is shutting down our operation due to the magnificent amount of donation and currently reached its full capacity.
Florida Keys and its residents are proud to share supplies with our fellow American Citizens from Puerto Rico and the official authorities has giving us the green light to take as much as we need.
We NEED to provide
transportation from the keys to Miami's Wynwood district warehouse.
Once in Miami the goal is to start transporting all the supplies to Ports and Airports as they become available from public and private sources. The situation in Puerto Rico is not easy and they don't have the capacity just yet to received so many containers at the same time so this could be a long process and must be treated as priority requires.
Im providing my production experience to put logistics together and be cost efficient about it.
My environmental production company is donating all the production supplies needed for any member of this Team.
I am fully independent, not attached in anyway nor getting paid from any of this organizations but only Volunteering my time and energy by working on building a structure and a plataform for all of us to come together for a good cause.
I've been able to get donations from Florida film vendors for trucks and equipment but I need to cover expenses for drivers, meals, gas etc
I'm not asking too much... I just want to keep helping and channeling all the help so it gets in the RIGHT HANDS!!!
My commitment is to bring the most donations needed to Puerto Rico in the less amount of time and without the bureaucracy that hurts our people so much.
I've been in contact with some celebrities and their foundations and they are being of great support as well. Donating planes ✈️ ships etc.
We know so many influential people in our community that I want to put it to work for a good cause.
Production Companies, Ad agencies, Camera Houses, Grip & Lighting, Motorhome Rentals, Props Shops, Studios/stages, truck rental, Production Supplies, etc etc
Puerto Rico has given so much to this community that it's time we give back!
Think about it!! I know we all are going through tough times but it's time we show them who we are and what can we accomplish together as a community.
I believe if we drop our egos and get our Film and Entertainment community resources united and lined up to help people in need it can be a total success.
Please help me help others!!!
I put an estimated budget together for some of the inmediate needs we have and came up with a $10k total for the cost of operation for now.
This is just like any production we are used to deal with but with a much bigger level of urgency than the "money shot" in the can and the martini shot at the end of each day!!
WE ARE SAVING LIVES FOR REAL!!
Whats included in this budget:
- Trucks rentals
- Fork lift rental and operator.
- Profesional cdl truck drivers
- Meals, Ice, Water...
- WALKIE talkies.
- Printing Location Signs.
- Office supplies (pens, markers, paper, ink, binders)
- Trash Bags (lots)
- Packing Materials (tape, boxes, wraps, etc)
The idea is to log everything so we can use as a reference.
I will provide with a log for supplies delivery each day and also ALL RECEIPTS of expenses. just like a petty cash wrap book ;)
This will bring us closer together!!!
It's just the beginning!!!
