Save Poor Diesel
We were driving through a neighborhood called Allapattah in the City of Miami and we came across this poor dog on the side of the road. We think that he may have been used as bait for dog fights, but as soon as we approached him he was extremely sweet and gentle. He actually ate food right out of my hands. His back 2 legs are currently paralyzed. He is so strong that he is using his front 2 legs to inch towards us, for food and water, while dragging his back legs Worsening his open wounds to the bone. After we called shelters and animal hospitals no one could come pick him up because it was after hours and we couldn’t just leave him there like this. So we loaded him into our car and took him to VCA Knowles animal hospital in Miami. He is still here and this animal hospital has been amazing to work with and providing excellent care.
It turns out that, after x-rays, his hip is displaced, and they don’t know if he will ever be able to walk again, but there is a possibility. Additionally, his bladder is enlarged and he needed a catheter because his bladder is uncontrollable right now. Due to his rough condition, we were asked to make another decision whether to spend a couple thousand dollars to get him the treatment and exams that he needs or let him be put down. After this poor guy looked us in our eyes while fighting for his life, we had to give him a chance at life.
Late last night after blood tests, the doctor let us know that he has low white blood cells and he is anemic and therefore he needs a blood transfusion. We immediately said yes. We have happily spent thousands on this poor guy and expect to spend more getting him fixed up enough where we can bring him to a rescue that can help place him in a loving home .
Im not the type of person to ask for money but nor could I bear making the decision of having to put this poor guy down. If you want to help contribute to giving this guy another chance at life we would gratefully accept donations that would go directly to his medical bills, rehabilitation, grooming and finding a home. If anyone knows a good place rescue or shelter to bring him please let us know. We feel bad asking friends and family for money, so to minimize the burden to any like minded dog lovers we are only asking for small donations of $5 or $10 per person. Please share even if you don’t donate.
