Ryan Ohnstad our friend, coach, mentor, and father of two is battling a type of germ cell cancer. First and foremost, we ask for your prayer support. Please keep Ryan and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Ryan is focusing on spending his free time, when he is feeling well enough, with his two children ages 8 and 11.
In March of 2019, Ryan, who is 43 years old, was diagnosed with a Stage 2 germ cell cancer. In April, he underwent surgery in Fargo, ND. Immediately after in May, Ryan began his first round of chemotherapy treatment with initial consults in Fargo and chemotherapy treatments in Bemidji. He has completed two rounds of intense chemotherapy and has two additional rounds to complete in a short time span. In August, Ryan will be reassessed to see if further treatment is needed.
Ryan works in the critical care unit at Sanford Bemidji. He has coached diving at Bemidji High School for ten consecutive years but has decided to currently step down in order to spend more time with his children. In between chemotherapy treatments, Ryan is spending every free minute with his children doing activities they all love such as golfing, fishing, and skiing.
Ryan has touched many of our lives deeply and now we have the chance to give back in a really meaningful way. We are asking for a goal of $7,500 in order to offset the expenses associated with his treatment, travel, and lessen the burden on his family. We ask that you donate to someone who has touched all of our lives in a meaningful way with his time, talents, and love.
Our goal is to help raise enough money to offset Ryan’s cancer treatment expenses such as surgeries, chemotherapy, and time off work. So, if you could please find it in your heart to donate anything at all we would be more than grateful for the help! Also, thank you for all your prayers. May God bless you.
