Rozzy needs your help.
Donation protected
Rosalinde Moret needs your help. You probably know her as Rozzy, a familiar sight in Carytown playing music for tips. Whether with a guitar in front of the Byrd Theater, an accordion outside CanCan, or even a hammer dulcimer in Shockoe Bottom, Roz has been entertaining Richmonders every season and in all weather for over 30 years! She’s even played her bagpipes at the Irish Festival in Church Hill.
Unfortunately, Roz suffered a stroke on July 10th, was hospitalized and hasn’t been able to return home yet. She’s currently at the Bon View Rehab facility on Forest Hill Ave. She’s making progress but hasn’t regained the full use of her right arm and leg. She will likely have to use a wheelchair and a walker to move around for the foreseeable future.
Roz just turned 70 years old and has Health Insurance but she depended on money from busking to help pay for food and other expenses. Sadly, it’s unclear when, if ever, Roz will be able to play music again. In the short term, she also needs money to help clear her apartment and make it safe for her to return home. Rozzy is a kind and gentle person who is fiercely independent. Her road ahead will be difficult. She can’t do it alone. Please help by making a donation.
