Rise up for Norah
Donation protected
Norah was born with a very rare neuromuscular disease that affects her mobility and her respiratory status. After catching the rhinovirus and already having a weak cough, she quickly declined and went into respiratory arrest. She was flown to UNC Children's Hospital where she has been since February 4th.
On and off the ventilator and now facing bacterial pneumonia and a totally collapsed left lung, she is to undergo a tracheostomy whenever she is stable enough as this will better protect her airway and help improve her quality of life. Through everything this baby has been through; cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest on the ventilator, and multiple failed extubation trials, she continues to smile and play in between the illness and chaos.
