Help Restore Ram Das’s Cello — A Living Piece of Spiritual History

This cello once belonged to Ram Dass during his days at Harvard—a living piece of history that held his music, his heart, and his early spiritual journey.

While he was alive he gave me this cello. We connected because he felt my devotion to music and spiritual life, and he trusted that I would care for this instrument and continue its path of service.

Where the Cello Is Now

The cello is currently on the Big Island at Nathaniel’s Music Shop, where it has been fully assessed. It needs approximately $5,500 in repairs plus flights to & from Big Island for the restoration to bring it back to full playing condition. This work will allow the instrument to not only be preserved, but to sing again.

Receiving this cello from Ram Dass was not just a gift of music—it was an act of soul recognition. A passing of lineage. A reminder that the path of the heart is not only walked in silence, but also sung, bowed, and breathed into being.
