Mission: Rescuing 17 Hours of 9/11 History from Degrading Tapes
I am a professional cinematographer and former Technical Director with 17 years of experience in Japan, and a graduate of New York University’s ITP. In September 2001, driven by a professional duty to document the resilience of NYC, I captured 1,000 minutes (17 hours) of footage on professional HDCAM tapes.
A Volunteer-Led Archival Mission
As we approach the 25th anniversary, 90% of this archive remains trapped on physical tapes that are reaching the end of their lifespan. I am volunteering my professional time, expertise, and my ProArt Book editing station to ensure these records—a "collective memory of humanity"—are not lost forever.
Why Your Support is Critical: Transparency on Costs
A professional project of this scale would typically cost over $12,000 in studio fees and equipment rentals. By providing my skills and equipment for free, I have eliminated most of that cost. However, I need your help to cover the essential "physical gap":
HDCAM Hardware Acquisition: I do not own the specialized playback deck required. Your support acts as the "key" to unlock these tapes.

2026年、事件から25年を迎える今、テープは物理的劣化の限界を迎えています。私はプロとしての技術と手持ちの編集PC（ProArt Book）を無償で提供し、この「人類の共有財産」を救い出すためのボランティア・アーキビストとして活動しています。
