<div>[Urgent Update: 3 Months into the Campaign – We Need Your Help to Unlock the Tapes]
</div>
<div>As of today, we are still fighting to secure the specialized HDCAM hardware and high-endurance archival storage (SSDs) required to play and digitize these 17 hours of rare footage.
</div>
<div>Currently, we have NO equipment and NO SSDs to even hold the data. My professional time and multi-media editing station are fully volunteered—but the vital hardware and storage are still completely missing. We cannot begin the rescue without this "key."
</div>
<div>With the 25th anniversary approaching this September 2026, we are running out of time before these physical tapes degrade forever.
</div>
<div>Please help us cross this immediate physical gap.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Mission: Rescuing 1,000 Minutes of 9/11 NYC Recovery from Degrading Tapes.
</div>
<div>I am a professional cinematographer, former Technical Director with 17 years of experience in Japan, and a graduate of New York University’s ITP. In September 2001, driven by a professional duty to document the resilience of New York City, I captured 1,000 minutes (17 hours) of crucial aftermath and recovery footage on professional HDCAM tapes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A Race Against Time and Chemical Decay
</div>
<div>90% of this unique archive has never been seen by the public. It remains trapped on physical tapes that are now reaching the absolute end of their 25-year lifespan. Magnetic tapes degrade chemically;
</div>
<div>if we do not digitize them now, this "collective memory of humanity" will be lost to history forever.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am volunteering 100% of my professional time, expertise, and high-end editing equipment. I am not asking for a salary. I am asking for the physical tools to make this rescue possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Where Your Donation Goes (100% Transparency):
</div>
<div>A professional archival project of this scale usually costs over $12,000 in studio fees. By volunteering my labor, I’ve eliminated those costs, but I cannot self-fund the specialized hardware:
</div>
<ul>
<li>HDCAM Deck Acquisition/Rental: Our immediate hurdle. We need to secure the playback deck to unlock the footage.
</li>
<li>High-Endurance Archival Storage (SSDs): To safely receive and preserve massive, uncompressed HD data for future generations.
</li>
<li>25th Anniversary Memorial Screening (Sept 2026): To host a public, non-profit community dialogue and screening in NYC using the rescued footage.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our Unshakable Promise to the Public:
</div>
<ul>
<li>100% Free Access: Every single minute of rescued footage will be published openly on Instagram @Manhattan2001 for the world to see.
</li>
<li>Educational &amp; Research Licensing: Free access for schools, museums, and historical researchers.
</li>
<li>Physical Preservation: The original physical tapes will be donated/preserved in an optimal archival environment as historical artifacts.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am not the "owner" of these moments, but their guardian. Please help me unlock this history before the tapes fade away forever.
</div>

</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<ul>
</li>
</li>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<ul>
</li>
</li>
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
