Relocate to Charlotte, NC

Hello, my name is Todd Emery and I am fundraising on behalf of my mother, Sandra Hood.

My mom was recently diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Cancer spread into her lymph nodes and after her most recent Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Scan they discovered that it has spread into her bones as well. The cancer is officially Stage 4 and uncurable, however, treatable, and depending on how the tumor reacts to her treatment there is hope!

My mom currently resides in Millington, TN (near Memphis) and I live in Charlotte, NC with my wife and 3 kids. She moved there from Austin, TX after her husband Ron passed away a few years back. She has a 4 bedroom house full of all the things they acquired over their 20 years together, so a move is more costly than most and she is not financially set to afford the move. 

My mom is alone, scared, and sad and it is breaking my heart. I, unfortunately, do not have the financial stability to go there and stay with her, nor can I afford to move her here and that is why I am fundraising on her behalf.

She has excellent health insurance and they are covering the majority of her treatment, so the only obstacle is getting her moved to Charlotte to be close to her family and loved ones so that she is not going through this trying time alone. My mom has been there for me for 44 years and never batted an eye when I needed help and has done the same for her grandchildren for 20+ years, she deserves to be with her people, and be loved. My mom is a true fighter and I love and respect her with all of my heart.

I have researched her cost to move and had estimates ranging from 10k to 18k. Any of the remaining money from this GFM that is left over after her move will be donated to the American Cancer Society (mom's former place of employment). Please reach out to me if you have any questions or advice.
