Help Us Build a Church & Community Centre in Nhulunbuy – $2M Needed!
Hi, my name is Pastor Dan, and my wife, Kris, and I started our ministry in the East Arnhem Regional District in 2017. After living here for many years, we felt a calling from God to serve our First Nations communities, including the Yolngu community and surrounding areas such as Nhulunbuy, Yirrkala, and Gunyangara in the Northern Territory.
Thus, we established Pentecostals of Nhulunbuy.
When Jesus commanded us to “go to the ends of the earth with the gospel,” we often think of jungles, coasts, and cities. However, regional country areas are just as important. It is essential to have churches where people are, so they can be reached for Jesus. Unfortunately, many regional areas, especially those home to First Nations communities, have been overlooked. Many of these communities have yet to experience the love of God or the salvation found in Jesus.
A trend we see across Australia is that while smaller rural communities are declining, larger regional centres are growing. We must respond by planting churches where people are.
As a senior minister, leading a staff team and a congregation of Yolngu people and other locals from diverse backgrounds, we began with a small core team of just nine. Ministry is not about personal comfort or honour but about answering the call of Jesus—taking up our cross and following Him, even when it leads us beyond our comfort zone. We are always happiest in God’s will, which often requires courage and faith to walk the challenging road of discipleship.
A Church & Community Centre for Nhulunbuy
To serve this growing need, we are seeking $2 million to establish a church and community facility. This building will not just be for Sunday services or prayer meetings—it will be a place of hope and transformation for those in crisis. Many in the Yolngu community are struggling, and we need a facility to provide both spiritual and practical support.
This facility will provide:
• A safe space for prayer, worship, and community gathering.
• Practical, emotional, and spiritual support for those facing crises.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs
• Emergency relief services
• Youth services and special programs for Indigenous youth
• Parenting support programs
• Family and domestic violence assistance
• Alcohol and drug support services
We are committed to bringing hope to those facing challenges.
Join Us in This Mission
As 1 John 3:16-17 reminds us:
"By this we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has this world’s goods and sees his brother in need, but closes his heart to him, how does God’s love abide in him?"
We invite you to partner with Pentecostals of Nhulunbuy in fulfilling this vision. Your generosity can make a lasting impact.
The Bible promises remarkable things to those who are generous. Generosity is more than just money—it is about partnership in changing lives.
Together, let us make a difference for Christ.
GOD BLESS YOU.
